Nelson becomes a successful doctor, his best friend Jesse, an award-winning architectural engineer, but Nelsons brother Alvin ends up in jail. In this riveting tale, Nelson relates the story of their childhood, and how, with the love and guidance of his grandparents, they come upon valuable lessons on how against all odds to become successful. Featuring accounts from Benjamin Franklin, George Washington Carver, Helen Keller, and Abraham Lincoln, the boys are inspired by some of Americas greatest heroes. This is one of my favorite books. It tells the stories of three young men, two of whom are brothers. In spite of humble and dangerous childhoods one becomes a doctor, the other an engineer, and the last man goes to jail. A story that dares students to dream and teaches them that no one is born or destined for failure due to their backgrounds. Persistence, hardwork, and determination can catapult you to reach your dreams. Book discusses historical figures like Abe Lincoln, Benjamin Franklin, and George Washington Carver.
