A good book to discover Byzantine Icons, learn what they represent, their themes and types, what they mean in presenting Church's liturgical feasts through the whole year, and how could they incite you personally for prayer and worship. Volume One contains an educational Introduction, an explanation about panel icons and the Iconostasis between the nave and the altar of a church, a detailed presentation of Murals used in the three cycles pertaining to the Doctrine, Liturgy, and Feasts of the Orthodox Church. Black and white prints of icons help the reader view and understand the text descriptions.
