His heart is hard as stone. But a mystery woman may be about to change that. "I don't understand – what good is a relationship? Thanks, but… no thanks. I prefer my relationships with women to be like a no-obligation gym membership: burning calories with as little drama as possible".
This was the motto guiding the life of Kim Ji-Yun, CEO of the Bubble Corporation, the most eligible bachelor in Asia, a computer genius, heartless, and haunted by his past.
Kim’s father invented the Bubble technology which allows the storage of memories, feelings and thoughts exactly as they were at the time of their recording.
Due to a bug in the system, Ji-Yun begins to share his memories with a mystery woman named Mee-Ok. From the moment he discovers this Wonderful Bug, he becomes addicted to a girl he does not know.
After a long time, he is willing to risk his heart again, but fate has a different plan in store for him…
This was an okay read. Kim's father dies and he is now left to run Bubble. I will admit the concept of Bubble was interesting. However, I just didn't real connect with Kim or Mee. The good news is that everything in the end works out for them.
The premise of Bubble Match sounded right up my alley -- I'd totally binge this if it were a k-drama
Unfortunately, Bubble Match is full of tell rather than show. It's a 1st Person POV of a petulant 20-something heir to a tech-dynasty who is jaded by his own product. I got as far as finding out that he flew in to take over his dying father's company, on the very day he dies (even though he mentions the board wanted a healthy transition period so as not to alarm the public... is 1 day a good handover in South Korea?). His first act as CEO is to demand to keep a 1-of-a-kind prototype that he's shown in a briefing. He's off to a great start and I'm OUT!
‘This was supposed to be a happy occasion, so of course, I recorded all of it on Bubble.”
Israeli author Merav Tuson Vardy earned degrees in social sciences and is a certified real estate appraiser. She has worked in banking but now devotes her time and energy to writing, with a focus on her favored South Korea as her entry in to published novels.
Merav opens her novel with the warmly conversational tone that pervades this entertaining story – “So, how many years has it been since you left Korea?” I look back at Lee Sung, still dumbfounded by the fact that she is conducting this interview. It’s been four years, but I as¬sume she is perfectly aware of this, seeing as she was the reason I left Korea in the first place. If the current circumstances had been different, I don’t imagine I’d have ever returned. “Four,” I respond, crossing my arms apathetically. “Wow. We’re so glad to have you back with us.” She is using the plural form, as if the entire nation is standing behind her, but the little nudge of her knee against mine combined with the exaggerated lean-in are meant to signal that she, in partic¬ular, was especially glad to see me. My frozen stare probably lets her know that I do not share this sentiment. My eyes wander over her unnoticeably. Her body is still impeccably maintained. Her face is smooth like marble, white like milk, unwrinkled and somewhat inhuman. But something about her does seem different….’
And so we meet Kim, and Merav’s plot summary is on target - "I don't understand – what good is a relationship? Thanks, but… no thanks. I prefer my relationships with women to be like a no-obligation gym membership: burning calories with as little drama as possible". This was the motto guiding the life of Kim Ji-Yun, CEO of the Bubble Corporation, the most eligible bachelor in Asia, a computer genius, heartless, and haunted by his past. After a long time, he is willing to risk his heart again, but fate has a different plan in store for him…’
The marriage of high tech concepts and romance works well in Merav’s hands, and the result is a tale that could be considered Chick Lit – and that is another way of saying that this first book is bound to be a success with a large audience.
Author Merav Tuson Vardy weaves an outstanding story where love and technology collide. With intriguing twists and witty turns, it will easily captivate the reader’s attention from the beginning. The author paints a mesmerizing story in a very vivid and convincing way. In addition, the characters are drawn with great credibility and conviction. It’s a fast-paced novel that will keep you engaged from the first page to the last.
The book description gives a sneak preview: ‘…I prefer my relationships with women to be like a no-obligation gym membership: burning calories with as little drama as possible".

Now, if that’s not enough to get your curiosity juices flowing, I don’t know what will. But if you want to find out what happens, you’ll just have to turn the pages for yourself! However, I will say it was well worth the read. It’s my first time reading this author and I must say I was very impressed.
This was a captivating read that had me engrossed from the beginning. The story flowed from scene to scene with ease, and the author shows exceptional ability when it comes to storytelling. There’s an ample supply of attention-grabbing moments in this page turner that will take the reader on a compelling and entertaining journey.
It’s one of those books that come along occasionally that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader.
If this book is anything to go by, I’ll certainly be looking forward to reading more from Merav Tuson Vardy in the future. A well-deserved five stars from me.
First, I want to thank Merav Tuson Vardy for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
The Bubble Match by Merav Tuson Varday was a book that I fully admit got my attention by the hunk in the tux on the cover! Rarely do any men dress up these days anymore. So, it was nice to see. Also, the title was extremely unique and placed in eye glasses. This was a very clever and thought out cover. Kudos to the Graphic Designer who designed this cover! You definitely made me want to read this book.
The one part of the storyline that popped out at me from all the rest was the Bubble device. The Bubble device could show you the past of a human being. When the main character put the Bubble on for the first time he mentally and sounded like a woman and wondered if he looked like a woman. However, he couldn’t see what he meaning she looked like.
If you like Mystery, Computers, Investigations, the meaning of family, the change of power then this is your book.
This is a good and quick romance set in Seoul, South Korea. It is predictable but a fun read when you just need something with HEA ending to lighten up your day.

A compelling read with a bit of romance, mystery and scifi type vibe. There's a huge machine called The Bubble. It holds people's most cherished memories. And he controls the company. And it's in trouble now. It was a mistake that he shouldn't be able to look into her bubble, but he did. And what he saw was beautiful. Too beautiful. Then he has a chance meet hanging out with his friend. Only can he let his heart have the chance at romance again when it was broken by a woman he thought he loved... or will his curse consume it all, like it did in the past when he loved someone else other then himself.
The Bubble is a very interesting futuristic concept. The well-flowing plot twist around this love at first sight romance is full of drama, greed, jealously and their consequences, good and bad. I like that both characters are smart, one is just rich and the other is not which I think brings balance. He's arrogant, I like that he is upfront. He's tough and sometimes rude but his connection to her shakes him up and opens his eyes. She is very brave, their story is not a bed of roses but intense and emotional. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
This was an interesting read. It's not my normal read but the blurb caught my attention so I figured why not...I am glad I decided to read it. I thought the plot was interesting and the premise of the story was as well. I didn't buy into the story entirely but it did keep my attention. I have never read this author before but I would definitely read another book by them. I am sure others will enjoy this book too. I would recommend it to those who enjoy this genre.
I don't know if it's just because I had such a connection to a previously read book, or if I just am not in the mood for a novel such as this one- but I did not feel the pull to this novel that I normally do when I am reading a new novel. I will definitely have to try again later.
i honestly am not sure what to say about this story haha.. it was.. odd.. and different.. it was interesting and made me curious. it did hold my interest and kept me curious. so. overall i say it was a good read.
