The chapters of the book reflect a range of approaches depending on the particular material being covered. Some are necessarily more technical and cover traditionally recognized sub-categories of 'family law', while adopting a fresh approach to the materials and developing new ideas. Others are
more novel, wide-ranging and thematic. In each chapter the authors develop a main argument or arguments, which reflect the themes of the book - fragmentation, gender politics, child-centeredness and respect for diversity.

This book provides interesting and valuable insight and deals with complex concepts and theory in a way that is easy for the reader to interpret and digest. Makes reference to literature and empirical research that helps to deepen the reader's understanding and is useful for future analysis.
