Written and Illustrated by Joan Drescher; this story is a fictional children's story with lots of different characters, and just as many families included. I like the way that Drescher keeps the book cohesive in-spite of the fact that there are so many different types of families throughout the book. The illustrations are simple, yet busy, and they include a variety of ethnicity. I would definitely have a first grade class use this book as a writing tool. I would introduce this book and ask children to write about their own families and draw picture to illustrate the different things that their families do together. What was also great about this book was that the main character of each of the stories was the children. This made the story relatable to each child.
