When four toy animals come to life they become unlikely friends. The toys try to help each other out in a fun bath time adventure. But they might just need some extra help..! There's A Giraffe In My Bath! is the first story for children between the ages of 3 and 6 by Louise Andrews. Illustrations are by Nick Roberts.
I loved the images in this book and the story was lovely and very easy to follow.
My daughter is just outside of the target age range at age 2 but she is a bit of a bookwork in training and she loved it – she was pointing out the different toys and animals and thought it was great! In fact, we had to read it again straight after we finished it the first time – so definitely a hit with her!
4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended and a fab story to read around bath time that will spark the imagination!
A parade of bath time, animal fun marks these pages and creates a cute adventure kids will enjoy.
The giraffe tumbles into the bath, but he isn't alone as other animals follow. Silliness ensues before they are rescued in bathtub style.
This book takes a walk through the imagination and fun surrounding bath time. Young listeners will relate to the various toys splashing into the bath and think of their own adventures between water and suds. These animals are easy to identify and a delight to follow as they fall in one by one. I can see listeners giggling and wanting to hear this one again and again.
The illustrations are bright, carry warmth and bring the commotion to life. Each moment has an accompanying, rhyming text. Unfortunately, this doesn't flow as well as it could and stumbles a little over the tongue when being read aloud. Still, the animals and situations are well met and listeners will enjoy the tale anyway.
I received an ARC and found the tale cute and fun to read. So, I'm leaving my honest thoughts and giving it 3.5 stars while rounding up.
We loved There's A Giraffe In My Bath. I got this one to read to my special needs and non verbal daughter. She loves a book read to her at night but has a very little attention span so I look for books geared toward the under 5 year ago group. When I picked this one up I did initial scan and I just knew she was going to love it and she did love it. The pictures were great. I read it once and then a second time. On the second reading we looked for and pointed out the spider on the pages. It is a fun read. It kept my daughters attention and even got a few laughs from her. We will definitely be reading this one again.
This is a quick and easy read which would make a wonderful bedtime story for young children. The illustrations are bright and colorful, and the text is kept to a minimum on each page. The story is an adventurous one and should keep listeners engaged all the way through.
