Was on the new book shelf, so I checked it out. Illustrations are nice, but the story is bizarre. Guess it's supposed to be since it was a hoax, but I'm not sure what a kid would take away from it. It didn't give me the warm fuzzies about being imaginative or thinking about strange creatures or anything. Especially since it was set amongst poor orphaned newsboys who were living on the street. Kind of depressing and sad from the get-go.
