Lion Shifter: Sahu

Rate this book
The only way demons have touched Tess’s life until now was in the movie she saw when she was 7. The Exorcist scared the crap out of her then, but she managed to get over it and move on.

Now, almost 30 years later, she's living the life...bills, a soul-killing job, and a micro-manager boss. Until the day she begins to see demons everywhere. She even seems to have her very own demon stalker. Not only that, but reality literally comes crashing down the day she discovers she can do magic. Who knew spell quakes were a thing?

Tess had settled into a very ordinary, very adult life. But it seems you’re never too old to be Chosen. Her life took a detour one crazy night and now she has the chance to explore an entire new world of magical creatures. Including one very gorgeous hunk of a golden-eyed lion shifter…

"What sets this book apart is the honesty. The protagonists self effacing humor is a joy! It is not over done, just plain funny at times. And so real." (BookLife).

This is the first time in reading this author with it catching my eye thanks to it having Shifters in it. It turns out to have humor mixed in with what unfolds which was a delightful surprise. Tess starts us out but as time goes forward things will change so that it seems life is upside down at times with how much it changes. Those changes also include her which in itself is a good hook to keep us riveted to what is happening. When she does become aware of what happened she also becomes aware of others that are a bit different. The attraction is fun with actually this was a bit different than most I have read. Not a heavy read even when the twists and turns occur. This was a surprise I am glad I stumbled upon.

I enjoyed reading this paranormal. First time ever reading a book by this author and I was pleased to find it very entertaining. I am so glad that the characters are more mature. I know it's fiction, I've read many in this genre and the characters are teenagers or barely legal which to me makes it seem too much of a burden for their young age to carry while dealing with peer pressure, hormones, etc. :) I think the maturity of the characters is an asset in this book because it allows the drama in the plot to focus on the story line instead of being emotionally all over the place. Great practical characters with team effort, full of action and very interesting concept. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.

This was a great read. I enjoyed it a lot. I wasn't sure I would simply because I don't usually read this type of book...meaning I don't do witches, warlocks, demons etc. I do however love a good shifter romance read (that doesn't include the rest of those characters in them). I am glad I gave this book a chance because the author kept me turning the pages. I liked most of the characters and I enjoyed the plot. The book moved a long at a steady pace and left me wanting more. My only complaint is that it ends with a cliffhanger...I can't wait to see what happens in the next book when it comes out. I would recommend it to others who enjoy paranormal romance reads

A chocked full of a little bit of everything book. With everything a shifter/magical book can hold. Though some parts are confusing. But all in all I did enjoy reading it.

Tess and her best friend Sara make a tiny mistake that blows up in their face. Little do they know the adventure that will lead them on to things. Will be much scarier than a peeved off warlock. There are 3 types of people: the Chosen, you have Familiars, or your a magic user. Their job is to protect the earth from demons and send them back to Hades. They also guide lost spirits onto the next plane. It seems Tess may be one of them since a large sized lioness showed up in her life. But why is a demon following her?

This was not my usual reading genre, but the blurb sounded interesting. Tess had no idea what was in store for her. As she discovered her abilities, she also found Sek and Jude, and his "family". Danger in the form of a certain demon pushed her to her limits, and she realized there was more to her powers. I liked Tess's strength, loyalty, and willingness to accept what was happening as her as normal. Jude was so attentive and protective of Tess. They were fated to be together and still have more to face together.

I was given a copy of this story, and this is my unsolicited review.

This is a cute supernatural action book with a new take on the battle between good and evil. There's magic, familiars, Egyptian deities, and demons. The book absolutely shows great promise as the beginning of a fun series. I received this book at no charge and all opinions are my own. The Kindle copy I received does have some editing needed, but nothing majorly significant and it didn't detract from the amazing story.
