Sir Sidney Colvin (18 June 1845 – 11 May 1927) was an English curator and literary and art critic, part of the illustrious Anglo-Indian Colvin family. He is primarily remembered for his friendship with Robert Louis Stevenson.
This is an exact copy of a much earlier published book that was deemed important enough to bring back to print. I am so lucky that I have an original one which my parents found on ebay and gave to me for Christmas. Cant wait to read it.
I wish I had read this book before I went to the John Keats house/museum because i would have enjoyed it all the more! It was a true pleasure to learn more about Keats and his life, friendships, experiences, and personality. I so enjoyed how Sidney Colvin interspersed it all with the poetry written during those different parts of his life and wove it together. As with any biographical work about a favorite author, this one made me cry when Keat's health declined and he so movingly died.
