Short book on the early history of the settling of the New World that few think about. The author takes the reader from the purpose of the Spanish presence in St Augustine (slaughter of French Huguenots who settled along the Saint John’s River in present day Jacksonville) to his time period in the 1860s.

An excellent piece of research by the then President of the St. Augustine Historical Society. The story is well told in a logical manner.
