Thaddeus “Tad” Meredith III will most likely never give a second thought to love and marriage. Escaping into the military from a rigid and controlling family had been his way of staying out of the limelight, once he had come out to his family. He remembers what happened, the disaster that had met his best friend when people in their circle discovered that he was gay. Even now, after two years out of the Navy, Tad is as cagey and mistrustful as he had been in all his time inside. Then he wakes up one morning confused and moody. After that, all he knows for certain is that the big, honey-colored dude hired to take care of him is the most interesting man he’s ever met in his life. Tad wants him. Can he have him, though? Only time will tell.
Melchizedek “Zeke” Taylor believes there is someone for everyone. He doesn’t think the way to find his someone is to troll the gay bars or use dating apps online. He also believes everything in life happens for a reason. So when he loses his job at the Twilight Senior Care facility, right when his grandmother is discharged after falling and breaking her hip, he sees it as a blessing. He can be home with her, except she sends him off to tend to some rich guy who needs a companion to temporarily watch over him until his body heals after an accident. When he meets his new charge and their eyes meet, Zeke cannot deny his immediate attraction. He knows trouble when he sees it, and Tad Meredith is that, with a capital "T." Because Zeke is very much afraid that Tad is "The One." "Afraid" being the operative word.

Jerry Cole is a gay author who lives in California & enjoys writing love stories. Jerry has been writing fiction since he was a child. As a young adult, he worked as a freelance writer in the evenings & on weekends. Jerry started writing gay romance stories several years ago, but initially just for his own entertainment & occasionally sharing stories with his friends. In the summer of 2015 he published his first gay romance short story on Amazon. Overwhelmed by the positive response he decided to quit his “day job” & took up writing gay romance full time. When he’s not writing steamy M/M romance he enjoys globetrotting, watching movies with family and friends, working out, & being dragged down the road by his two Great Danes.
We have an endearing tale by Jerry Cole. The story flows well and we get hot sexy times, too. Melchizadek/Zeke, a 27 yr. old LPN, Licensed Practical Nurse, works at a Nursing Home. He is an American Indian/Black man who is sweet, and cares for his fiesty Grandmother. So, when she broke her hip, he's right by her side. Then, the Nursing Home loses it's funding, so Zeke finds a new job with a private patient. The patient, Thaddeus/Tad, 42 has been through a car wreck at a stop light, and his ribs are bruised and has severe head trama affecting his memory. Tad is wealthy; a silver fox with a neat beard and blue-gray eyes.
Our men are a slow burn couple, because Zeke will not hurt his job by fooling around. Tad has a rough time remembering things in small bursts, and he is moody. Zeke is patient, caring and is a live-in caretaker nurse. They tell each other pasts and stories to get to know each other. Tad likes Zeke's grandmother, giving him insight as to Zeke's warmth and depth. By the time they do get to act on their feelings, it's love. The men are wonderful together, with scorching heat. Zeke has fears that he's not good enough for Tad's rich life, but Tad dispells that. It's a wonderful story of love and healing. Highly recommended. ENJOY !
Slow moving and I never connected to either Zeke or Tad.
At the halfway mark, they kissed. Everything moved so slowly and they were both nice guys. I just never got invested in their story. Two good people who meet and connect but nothing really happens and yet it seems to take forever to get to the end.
It's past the 80% read mark that they move beyond a kiss. There's slow and then there's s l o w.
I like Jerry Cole but this was a miss. I'm fine without angst and anvils and the like but this was just boring.
What can I say, another masterpiece from Jerry Cole. Tad has an accident which leaves him needing personal care from a nurse. he comes from a cold family and has vowed to stay away from love and marriage. his life and ultimately the accident are from a bad and tragic experience in his past with a close childhood friend. read the book to find out. enter Zeke the nurse, caring and loving with a grandmother to die for. their journey away form dislike (with attraction) towards like and much more is well written. JC does not let us down yet again. the story intertwinds a range of issues, homophobia, fear, sense of guilt, how trauma can close up a person heart being afraid to love, humour, spice, sex, lovely side characters, the evil parent, adn of course in typical JC style a warm HEA.
read it a love it as i did.

‘Amnesia aside, he would heal fast , and be back to his old self’
California author Jerry Cole is a gay author who has been writing fiction since he was a child. As a young adult, he worked as a freelance writer in the evenings and on weekends. In the summer of 2015 he published his first gay romance short story on Amazon. Overwhelmed by the positive response he decided to quit his “day job” and took up writing gay romance full time. The high quality of Jerry’s novels is consistent, and this novel is very strong. Knowing his style of writing, the prose flows out smoothly and the choice of character types he has selected for this novel are not only well sculpted: they are men affected by the impact of homophobia. Tad fled his family’s disdain about his coming out as gay by joining the Navy, seeking to avoid the traumas of those ‘out’ gay men who faced society’s insensitivity. Yet even post discharge from that hoped-for refuge, Tad is overwhelmed and is in an auto accident, has amnesia, and needs care. Zeke works at a senior care center until he loses that job, his grandmother breaks her hip during a fall, and Zeke wants to care for her. But his grandmother requests he accept a job caring for a man who needs a companion during his recovery – and thus, Zeke and Tad meet, and the chemistry blossoms…and the rest is romance.
The manner in which the story unravels marries art and passion and identity and makes for an illuminating premise – and of course the erotica is very present. The story is strong, not only because of the two fine characters Jerry has created, but also because of the sensitive manner in which he addresses the stigma of homophobia while emphasizing the impact of family. This is a fine new novel by a man who grows with each story he explores. Once again, hats off to a Pro!
My adult brain is in love with the imagination and stories of Jerry Cole, the way my young adult brain was with Danielle Steel. He weaves tales of everyday people from all walks of life, finding each other and falling in love. The stories can be easy, angsty, and even traumatic at times, just like life. But, they are beautifully told, and you feel every bit of it.
This story is about a private nurse whose compassion, empathy, and strength win over the heart and soul of an international corporate lawyer suffering from a brain injury.
This is fairly low on the angst scale, however the past and current traumas both men have suffered (on and off page) more than make up for it. Each MC has to come to terms with current life situations, which will ultimately alter both their futures.
I loved Gram to bits, and felt she added a strong part to the story. Dad's mom however didn't seem to add very much one way or another and I found her character kind of, bleh.
I recommend this for anyone who wants/ desires a good sweet romance, without all the angst.💖

Forget Me Not is the story of Tad, a successful lawyer, who finds himself as the victim of a terrible auto accident. Zeke ends up becoming his live-in nurse trying to help Tad back on his feet, literally, and gain his memories he lost in the accident. We get to see these two fight their attraction for one another due to the ethical dilemma of their nurse/patient relationship. This story only has a few characters but they are completely relatable and I fell in love with all of them. I found Zeke’s character to be so closely related to my life along with sharing his same fears and insecurities. I think it’s so much easier to delve into a book when the characters seem so human. Their feelings, their lives, the people they come in contact with, their families, they all are real. I loved being able to read about Zeke’s Gram fuss over him and Tad’s mother being overbearing and overprotective. That’s real life. Also, the fact that Zeke and Tad are an interracial couple warms my heart. We need more of this! This was such a good book and it became a tear jerker in the end for me so be prepared! What happens when you grief over the things you can't remember? What happens when life throws you a curve ball and suddenly end up unemployed and without a clear path to go on?
Tad and Zeke's love-story revolves around the whole "Forbidden love" and "Everything happens for a reason" themes a boss-employee/patient-caregiver type of relationship that evolves to something deeper and beautiful, not without it's fair share of longing and dealing with inappropriate feelings towards eachother.
Jerry manages to shine some light to the struggles of coming out in an adverse enviroment, trauma and mental health issues, as well as racial prejudices and hate crimes without creating a tense enviroment for the reader. It adds to the background of each of the MC without becoming the main focus of the story.
Grams was maybe one of the sweetest characters I've read in all of the material that I've read from jerry Cole: wise, funny and with a beautiful heart and perspective to offer to Zeke and Tad, I absolutely loved her.
I received and ARC for this book in order to offer an honest review.
Zeke and Tad’s story is another great journey written by Jerry Cole. The characters bring the pages alive. The passion between Zeke and Tad is hot, hot, hot!
Zeke’s Gram is a wonderful character, a woman who tells it like it is. The closeness between Zeke and his gram is beautifully written. The contrast between the two families is portrayed in such a good way, showing the differences of their upbringing, which in turn makes the two characters so lovable.
Dealing with attraction while in a patient/carer situation is something that makes you want to turn the next page to see how they will work through the problem.
I highly recommend this book, a great story that you won’t want to put down. I received a free advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest & unbiased review.
This is the story of Tad who bumps his head in a car accident. As a result he is very unsteady on his legs and also lost his short-term memory. To be able to get released from hospital and go home, he needs a live-in nurse to look after him, which he finds in Zeke. From the start they are very attracted to each other but Zeke will not get involved with his client. As Tad improves and his doctor agrees that he does not require a 24/7 nurse any more, their relationship takes off. This story is a very good description of a journey to a HEA, which is not always smooth riding. A very enjoyable book indeed and I highly recommend it.

A contemporary romance about Tad, who has lost about a month of his memories after a car accident and a severe head trauma. Zeke is a nurse who feels he needs to take care of his grand mother broke her hip. Loosing his job, his grandmother pushes him to take the job of taking care of Tad when he goes home. Love blossoms between the two and Tad still struggles with his memory. An HEA is at the end of this sexy book, but not without a little sadness. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.
This is the story of Tad and Zeke. I have come to love the stories of Jerry Cole. Every story brings something new and touches you in a new way. This one is no different. It brings your attention to the fact that homophobia is still a very real part of society. This story is an emotional rollercoaster and touches your heart so deeply you cannot help but fall in love a little with Tad and Zeke. The grandmother reminded me of mine which made me laugh and cry at the same time. Fantastic book.
I received this book as an Arc and I am reviewing it voluntarily.
Melchizedek is a caring nurse and lives his life as it happens. Thaddeus has been injured and is frustrated by his recovery and missing memories. A beautiful journey of Tad's recovery and the two men growing closer. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
This book would have been so much better rated if the author was not all over the place with the pet. One minute it's living with the grandmother, then a neighbor, then the grandmother again. Editing kills books....or it makes them great!!!
Jerry I love your books and this one was great. The way they came together was beautiful and I couldn't would to pick it back up. Then I didn't want it to end. Thanks again for another terrific story and companionship it was great.
