Based on the acclaimed anime series from writer's Goro Taniguichi and Ichiro Okouchi, with original character designs by the manga powerhouse CLAMP! Zero continues his relentless assault against the Brittannia forces in this ongoing novelization of the acclaimed anime series!
Managed to track down a copy of this and, uhhhh..... Well, I like that it gives more insight into the characters and stuff like that. But the writing style is awfully annoying at times. Also... this is a novelization of the TV series, and a lot of things it says seem to contradict the TV series. A lot of things (like, political situations, fights, etc.) that would usually hold water in the TV series, are described here in a way that makes them seem a lot less sensible. Also, reading a giant robot fight in prose? Yeah, it just feels ridiculous. Especially the way they capitalize all the weapons. Like, I get "VARIS", because that sounds like an acronym (I might be completely wrong about that). But "SLASH HARKEN"? Yeah, it just doesn't look right. But such is the thing, I guess? Eh.
