This is the first book in this series I read (thank you scholastic book fair!) and one of the first books I read that showed young protagonists who are good with computers. The romance subplot is absolute nerd wish fulfillment and the writing is clearly aimed at kids, but something about two kids in school using their hacking skills to stop a terrorist group is so much fun. I can't really review this objectively because it had such a huge impact on my life and my career, but I love it. If you want to get a little flavor of what it was like to be a kid in the mid 90s getting into hacker subculture, this is a great read.
