This TEXT book's sequence matched our path of encidental study. So, we've kept using it as a tool for transition in my child's dependent to interdepent study. Hopefully this will take us to our goal of "independent study". If the child can add, subract, multiply and divide, why should the child be exposed and learn to apply the same mathematical functions to fractions? Therefore, I specially like that it covers addition and subtracion of fractions, as well as, multiplication and division of fractions, as opposed to other math text books which separate +/- from x/div. into 2 different school years. I also like the application of the each chapter to thinking and analytical exercises in the form of word problems.
