"Represents an important new voice in Nigerian poetry. Taking their origin from his immediate environment, Maik Nwosu's poetry works in wide lyrical sweeps, often brilliantly, dwelling, sometimes with humour and eloquence, on the black man's plight." --Citation, ANA/Cadbury Poetry Prize, 1995

"yes, there is politics
but there is compassion too
and that which is greater
is the soul of the brave new world." (Ballad of the Peace-Keeper, 13)

Nwosu's poems are journeys full of honest revelations and yearnings for ancestral recollections that leave lasting impact with the help of his beautiful collages of images and observant aphorisms.

Beautiful read. Really recommend it!
