As a family physician, he practiced in rural communities for 13 years and spent 21 years in academic medicine at the University of Utah, the University of California, Davis and the University of Washington.
He has written 16 books on U.S. health care, policy and reform in the U.S. His newest book, published in September 2018, is TrumpCare: Lies, Broken Promises, How It Is Failing, and What Should Be Done.
In 2017 he published Crisis in U.S. Health Care: Corporate Power vs. the Common Good which earned a silver medal in the national competition of the Independent Book Publishers Association. In addition he has written two pamphlets inspired by Thomas Paine's approach: Common Sense about Health Care Reform in America (2017) and Common Sense: U.S. Health Care at a Crossroads in the 2018 Congress (2018.)
In addition to books on health care he has written Souls on a Walk: An Enduring Love Story Unbroken by Alzheimers and Flight as a Lifetime Passion - Adventures, Misadventures and Lessons.

Painstakingly researched. Author is a Physician for National Health care with a deep background in practice, policy and teaching. He brings a highly credible perspective that offers a fact-based glimpse of our future without reform.
