Gospel Light: Comments on the Teachings of Jesus from Aramaic and Unchanged Eastern Customs

Rate this book
This volume is the result of many questions asked by men and women who have attended my lectures on Aramaic. Letters of inquiry have also come from ministers and lay men who have read my translation of the Scriptures from Aramaic and from other ancient eastern manuscripts. Since Aramaic was the language of Jesus and His disciples, and because of the author's knowledge of this ancient language and Semitic customs, many people have expressed the need for the author to prepare a commentary on the obscure and more important passages in the Gospel narrative. Gospel Light is published in response to that need. It treats only the difficult and important passages from the four Gospels and does not touch on those that are clear or easily understood. The author's purpose is to throw new light on the scriptures... to illuminate and strengthen the teachings of Jesus.
