American Government [with Election Supplement]

Rate this book

This text covers the essential topics of American government, including domestic and foreign policy, in a concise format. Gitelson's proven myth and reality framework encourages students to examine their preconceived notions about government.

Marginal critical-thinking questions ask students to challenge their assumptions about government and an end-of-chapter "Net Work" section includes 4-5 key Internet resources and exercises. Myths in Popular Culture boxes examine myths found in political cartoons, music, film and other media. Closer to Home boxes focus on state and local issues such as the effort to give states more functions and responsibilities. Over 50% are new.
