My brother-in-law gave me this book for Christmas. Written in 1976, it shows that the rules of "the game" really don't change much. It's an unapologetic compendium of double entendres and puns that remind one how similar the rules and techniques of the game on the course and in the bedroom actually are.
For example, in the section on frigid conditions, we are reminded that we "should be aware that extremely cold weather can freeze your balls to such an extent that a noticeable loss of distance will result. To compensate for this many players wrap their balls in a heating pad before what could be a chilly round."
Oman actually makes a pretty clever analysis of the golf swing and transposes this onto another form of swinging. I laughed out loud several times. The book's journey will now take it to my brother in St. Louis, and his golfing buddies.
