Well it speaks to me from a different thankfully bygone era where it was a scandal to be outed as “queer” and a “dyke” where those words are more often touted as slurs than reclaimed for personal use. I am grateful to our gay elders who had to go through all of this to get to the point where we are today. Still, there is much work to be done. This is obviously a cis perspective of the gay experience as well. It is well written and the story was interesting. Also was fairly short though for some reason took me forever to finish. I think I would have finished it sooner but I was recovering from surgery last week and didn’t have the energy to read somehow.
