It's pretty obvious that this book is written for middle school age readers, but there is some information that I would consider a little too mature for that age range - like the definition of an aphrodisiac, or instructions on how someone from history created their poisons.
Most of the plants described in the pages are pretty common, and not actually fatal. I do appreciate that we received the toxicology and the medicinal uses as well with each plant.
I do not care for the picture indicators at the start of each plant introduction, as there was not a key anywhere in the book to let us know what the picture indicators actually mean. The drawings of the plants were fine, but not great - I felt like the drawings were a little too vague to accurately identify real plants with them.
Overall, some good information throughout, but it's not a perfect book by any means.
