A fine sweep of a book in the Bellamy style, covering the four major ice age pulses in this last great Ice Age that we are still in, with glacial and interglacial effects on plants and animals, including Home sapiens. David was a colleague and friend of mine and I helped a little with some research for him on Ice Age mammals. We appeared regularly together on BBC NE "Looks Natural' tv programme - always a delight to interact with him and to read his books
