Six months after a mutated varicella virus decimated the world’s population, Maggie Delgado is in hiding. Four men step up to protect and support Maggie, for love, friendship and family. She and the children remain on the run from a man whose experiments and machinations have already unbalanced their world. From their safe house, Maggie and her chosen family struggle to stay a step ahead of Monroe, only to find there is more than one enemy intent on finding them. Friends… and an old enemy step up to become her strongest allies. They survived the virus. Will they survive the world that they now find themselves in?
Who would have known there would be a series where the gingers are the superior race?!
Also, if you're writing a reverse harem, I.e. the lady will have a bouquet of dicks to use, you better add some railing. I understand the need for plot and mama likes her plot but we need good railing too.

If you read Book 1, I can confirm that if you liked it, you will enjoy this book just as much as it’s a good continuation of the story.
In this book we see Maggie recovering from all the shocks and trauma she has undergone. James has not been a great support because of the distraction of his baby and Penny, but Nate, Sean and Cassan all want to support her in any way that they can. Nate in particular fell for her when he was working with Monroe.
This book is all about building up their new community and the relationships within it. Even though they are constantly on the move and fearing for their survival they now have others to rely on. It’s not just Tate and Maggie’s mental abilities, they have others with them who have them too, which helps keep them safer and less exhausted.
With more men being interested in Maggie, and her need for companionship, love and support after being alone for so long, it’s not surprising that she begins to fall for the other guys and doesn’t know what to do about it. Working their way through this emotional minefield whilst trying to stay free and safe is hard work.
Through the book they find new people and add those that are just trying to stay safe to their number, whilst sending those with bad intentions to the military in San Antonio. Whilst I understand having the mental abilities they have helps keep everyone safe, I don’t think it’s realistic that guys who were in the military, until very recently, didn’t seriously hurt or kill anyone. I don’t think telepathy is a the neat cure all the writer uses as a plot device.
Other than that, this continues to be a well written and entertaining series. If you like dystopian books with emotional content rather than just blowing up zombies, you should enjoy this book.
What an amazing follow up to Reds of Summer. This book has so many plot twists. I thought the way the last book’s cliffhanger was dealt with was mature and satisfying. It wasn’t an easy fix - nothing is easy for Maggie and the guys. The cast of characters is really expanded upon and they never feel like they’re just side characters. Everyone if fleshed out. The sexy times ramp up in this book and I was happy to see who got to go first. If you’re looking for something a little different than the quickie RH romances out there, give the Thrive series a try. It’s a story first and foremost, with the romance at it’s backbone so you know you’ll get the best of both worlds: story and steam.
This book has had me nonstop reading all day . I couldn’t put it down. I absolutely love this series and can’t wait for the next book. These characters are all awesome and I can’t wait until They take down that douche canoe Monroe.
I love how much Maggie has grown since the beginning. The family she has created and the sweet moments they have has brought me to tears. I cannot wait for book 3.
I enjoyed this book that was suspenseful. I couldn’t put it down because I needed to k ow what was going to happen. I can’t wait for the third book to come out. This is a definite must read.
This book is also a page turner. The relationships get deeper and things get hotter. There are some suprise and the end will leave you wanting more. I can't wait for the next book!
This is book 2, and you need to have read book 1 to know what's going on.
Having escaped from the medical facility, Maggie and her found family are on the run from the man experimenting on red heads. She has a lot of trauma to deal with, not only from her 2 months in captivity but also from a betrayal closer to home.
The group is getting bigger and they work well together to help start up a new community, keep their red headed family members safe and also try and work to shut down the threats, but they are not sure who they can trust.
This story will keep you on your toes as people you thought you could and couldn't trust aren't always what they seem.
This is also the book that brings in the poly relationships. Now Maggie has 4 guys interested in keeping her safe... and they also want more. This is still slow burn, with very little physical interactions between them all, it takes a while for them to all admit their feelings, but I love how they all sat down and discussed how it might all work. The guys are all very protective of Maggie and come into the story in different ways.
The telepahy takes on a much bigger part in this book, and I did find it a little confusing as to who could and couldn't do what - all red heads were not equal in regards to their powers.
I didn't like Maggie as much in this book as the first. She seems to have been elevated to someone who must be listened to, and her instructions must be followed. She liked to tell the guys off if she wasn't included, and I just felt like she didn't seem to work as a team as much as the others did. I mean, there were loads of side characters that seemed to be doing so much more for their little community, but they were left in the background much more.
I will be reading the final book as I am too invested in the story at this point.... I need to know what happens!
This series just keeps getting better! I was reading on my kindle and kept noting I was nearing the end of the book and wondering how it was going to be wrapped up, only for it to end in a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for book 3!
The guys are super protective and I’m really enjoying reading about Nate taking care of Maggie and always being there. He’s totally turned around for me from book one where he started off the strong, silent type. He’s now my favourite member of her harem 😍
I like how all the guys contribute their different personalities so Maggie is able to depend on them for different strengths. Danny and Tate’s relationship is adorable and it’s great to see them acting like kids, along with Stella.
The intrigue and drama is fantastic and I like how they have to think of all the items they may need just to survive day by day in a post pandemic world along with watching out for the group hunting them.
Maggie is a badass, no doubt about it. I loved seeing her and her men open up to the idea of RH and their relationships start to develop. The twist with the pregnancy I did not see coming, excited to see where it goes. This series hits all my yes checks: Post Apoc, RH, danger and drama and surviving. Im enthralled!
When I started this series, I had no idea what "RH Romance" means. The first book sets the groundwork for these complex relationships, and things finally get steamy, and get discussed, in this book. I'm looking forward to seeing what Maggie and her handsome "harem" get up to in book 3.
Maggie and the guys are AWESOME!!!! I cannot say enough about the storyline!! It is fantastic, especially now that the world is recovering from the real life pandemic! Can’t wait to read the next book!!!!
I am really enjoying this series. It’s fun that it came out before covid. Great premise. Well executed. Love the evolution of the main female characters relationships. I look forward to the next book in the series.
