Homedaddy: Little White Lies and Other Tales from the Crib

Rate this book
With intellectual wit and a keen eye for the absurd, Todd Pinsky chronicles his adventures as a stay-home father of an infant daughter, and serves up a refreshing and wickedly funny alternative to Mr. Mom stereotypes of bumbling, clueless dads. Homedaddy free-associates between the nursery and the outside world to create a satirical and poignant commentary on modern American life.

There’s just something about an illustrated book that warms your heart.

One shouldn’t judge a book by its title (😛) There have been times I have been disappointed by the titles I had been truly fascinated by, and then, there’s this. A book that sounds like a boring guide to being a stay-at-home dad, but is, in fact, anything but boring.

Every line of this graphically illustrated book keeps that smile on your face intact. No, scratch that. It puts a smile on your face where it didn’t previously exist. And the book also, at times, manages to make you fall out of your chair, laughing. Such is this cute little book about a stay-at-home dad’s journey through his daughter’s infancy to toddlerhood. The plus point is that each chapters exceeds no more than two or three pages, and with cartoons to go with each, it’s a perfectly easy read.

VERDICT : READ THIS ON THAT DULL, GREY DAY.
