Omega chipmunk shifter Chip is shocked to end up in Vale Valley. The last thing he remembers is jumping out of his captor's car. Soon, he's in a strange house with a gruff but attentive alpha who's interested in more than playing host. Now, he must stay in Vale Valley in order to stay safe. The hot, strapping bear isn't a bad incentive to stay, either. There's just one thing calling to him from the outside...his twin brother, who may be in as much danger as Chip had been. Will he have to choose between love and family? Can he overcome the trauma and nightmares, and make room for new love, and new life?
Alpha bear Rex has never missed having a love life. A confirmed bachelor and loner, he never thought he'd ever care about another creature much, especially not a useless little chipmunk. Yet something in the young omega's eyes draws him in, and he knows he can't keep his hands to himself for long. The urge to mate becomes much too strong, and he knows he must surrender to the fire of desire.
His Summer Honey is book 6 in the third season of the blockbuster Vale Valley series. A charming, mystical small town, it welcomes all who need a home or a love. His Summer Honey has all the heat, love, action, and babies you could want this summer, so kick back on a patio with a cool sangria and enjoy the sweet, smexy mpreg times!
A bear and a chipmunk! How cute is that pairing? I want more chipmunk shifters! This was a cute mate story if not a bit juvenile at times but it’s a good fill in.
I will say, where is this season of Vale Valley going?!? Cock cages and rape? I read these stories for cute cheesy goodness. Not for kink or depression...geez. Plus these stories aren’t long enough to do serious subjects like the rape, justice...just saying. I kind of ignored the rape part in this one. It’s not descriptive by any means but you know it happened. But you got a magical dick cure so...
The first 60% of this book was awesome! Loved the two MCs, loved the writing. Then around 60% in the writing devolved into a immature mess. I get that Chip is 22... but Rex is at least in his late 20s and yet their conversations sound more like something between two 13 year olds. I love the premise of a chipmunk and a black bear being mates... just wish the execution of creating this book had been of a higher quality.
This was book 5 in "Vale Valley Season 3". While out forging in his bear form Rex runs across a wounded Chipmunk he can't understand how he is so drawn to him. Turns out it's his mate. Chip was kidnapped and raped by someone who doesn't want to take no for answer. This was a good read when Rex kissed him Chip pulled away. While showing him around the Vale Valley Chip goes into heat and these two have sex. I really liked both of these characters Rex was patient with Chip and let him tell him what happened to him. I also liked Chip's family and his twin Billy I hope some writes about him. I liked this book but it had some errors in it. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
I really enjoyed this addition to the Vale Valley series. I loved both Chip and Rex and their beautiful relationship. I appreciated the fact that they handled the villain away from Vale Valley especially since Vale Valley is a magical town that is a safe haven for those who need love or a home. The plot held my interest and I liked the way that they handled the bad guy. Overall, a sweet and very spicy story.
You can always find love and happiness in Vale Valley
I can always count on Vale Valley for a good read. The books are cute and short and there's lots of love and babies. I also like the unusual shifter pairings. Like a bear and a chipmunk. I really love picturing them together. Especially imagining Chip riding on Rex's back. Adorable! They were so cute.
Rex and Chip are such a sweet couple. Chip is able to overcome his trauma because of Rex. And Rex is able to save Chip from his stalker. Their love story ends with two adorable babies.
I liked this book it was good to see another shifter in this series never read a book about a chipmonk and bear before which was complete change. As for Rex though he is a alpha bear you could not help but fall in love with him.
Returning to Vale Valley this summer has been a fun experience of revisiting old acquaintances and being introduced to new ones. It was a great opportunity through this ARC to go back to Vale Valley. While I try to read every book I received it's not always possible or the story doesn't hold my attention. None of that was the case with Vale Valley Summer edition. Book 5 His Summer Honey involved a mixed shifter couple - a very unusual couple: a huge Grizzly Bear and a sweet Chipmunk named Chip.
Rex the Grizzly was kind & protective, of the new shifter he'd happened upon on during a hunt for summer treats in the woods. It was dangerous to venture beyond Vale Valley's borders because many weren't accepting of shifters. Brave Chip had been through a horrendous ordeal which Rex refused to press him to reveal before his Chipmunk was ready. He was very respectful of Chip's PTSD.
It turns out Rex's special honey was Chip. The little Chipmunk was the sweetest thing Rex have ever tasted. He was smitten from first sniff. Though traumatized Chip still felt drawn to and safe with the huge shifter. He showed his bravery and resourcefulness despite being such a small shifter taking a great risk to escape from a monster. I love the family dynamics in this story, they were wonderful.
Unfortunately there was a villain who gave other shifters a truly bad name with his viciousness & cruelty. He felt he could use his larger size and strength do whatever he wanted. Take whatever he wanted. Manhandle whoever he wanted. But he was devious so that he couldn't be suspected when wrongdoing occurred.
This is definitely a Mpreg romance. I loved the reference to gummy bears. The importance of family is a reoccurring theme throughout this book. I can't wait to visit Vale Valley again. I adore how all this author created such a honey sweetened tale. This will be a definite reread.
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the at he kids' series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or 'Liberty' from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey’s books) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times a year (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok). It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
This was a surprising combination of shifters and it worked. The book was good, with some suspense in it definitely a good read!
Character breakdown;
Chip: I loved his chipmunk side it was too cute and feisty. I loved that he fought some against the crazy wolf. And found the strength to be with his mate.
Rex: I love bear shifters they are always the must loving. But this bear was a little cocky, I also loved that he loved to garden. Rex reminded me of my boyfriend minus the cockiness.
Favorite Quote: The babies competed in who could wail the loudest as they were handed to me one by one.
Cute paranormal mm romance with a recycled plot. Bear shifter steps on chipmunk shifter on the run. They mate, have babies, and the bear protects the chipmunk and his family. Typos: a few words garbled (felt for left, doing for going, ready for read, it for in, splitting for spitting), garbled sentence ("no carrier I'm going to tell them"), missing word, missing capital letter at start of sentence, capital letter in the middle of a sentence, missing space (soyou), brackets for parenthesis.
I absolutely LOVED this fantastic, sweet, charming, engaging, grab-you-by-the-feels, sexy, delightful, and totally awesome tale. Chip (a chipmunk shifter) and Rex (a bear shifter) are one of the most unconventional and unique couples I've ever come across, but the author made it work beautifully. I really enjoyed reading this marvelous gem, and would DEFINITELY recommend getting it ASAP.
Rex and Chip will grab your heartstrings and pull you in like a rubber band. This one is so sweet. I have never read a chipmunk shifter before so cute. I have said it before but I'll happily say it again I love the Valley. I was blessed with an ARC of this and I am volunteering to leave a review.
I admit to grabbing and reading this because of Chip, it’s not often you get a chipmunk shifter. Loved the pairing, although at times they seemed very juvenile, which drove me nuts (lol). And there were a lot of typos but this was otherwise a quick easy read with a little angst thrown in.
I'll admit this romance went a little faster than I expected but it was still good. Poor chip escapes from a mean wolf only to meet his mate a chunky bear named Rex.
