About the author

Georges Labica was a French philosopher. His field of research was political philosophy. He was professor at the University of Paris-Nanterre, honorary director of the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) and honorary professor at the Renmin University of China.

Labica was a specialist in the history of Marxism. Together with Gérard Benussan, he published the Dictionnaire critique du marxisme. Labica saw himself as a committed intellectual and supporter of radical anti-colonialism and anti-imperialism.
