Taylor’s End is a small, sleepy town like countless others sprinkled across rural America; until the police make a gruesome discovery at the rest stop on the outskirts of town. A man has been murdered, and it’s no ordinary killing.
Local Chief of Police, Nick Bremner fervently hopes the murder is an isolated incident, a violent act committed against a lone traveler by some hopped-up hitchhiker who has probably already crossed the state line.
That same day, a stranger arrives in Taylor’s End, a rudderless drifter floating from one town to the next. She seems harmless enough, but she is harboring a dark and menacing secret that she can no longer control.
As the town is gripped by a spate of violent attacks that leave the tight-knit community reeling, will Bremner discover who is responsible before another innocent life is lost? Or will it fall to Connor? The teenage son of the drunken landlord of Webster’s Boarding House and one of the few people who know the frightening truth about their new guest.
Will Connor find the courage to stand up and fight back against the evil force threatening to destroy Taylor’s End?
Naomi H Brown is an Australian horror writer. Her most recent book, Reign of Flesh is an adrenaline-fueled apocalyptic horror story about one young woman’s brutal fight for survival and the lengths she will go to to protect the people she cares about.
When she isn’t working on her latest book, Naomi is run ragged by three demanding cats and a fluffy black pom-pom that may or may not be a dog. She enjoys curling up by the fire with a cup of Earl Grey tea, or if she is feeling naughty, a vodka lime and soda (easy on the lime and soda), Netflix binges, bumblebees, and Josh Homme from QOTSA.
Taylor's End is equal parts compelling and terrifying. This tome is guaranteed to have you checking that your doors are locked and the curtains drawn by nightfall... highly recommend for horror lovers!
Pity the tiny community of Taylor's End, bucolic, peaceful, stultifying--until now. A new player has come to town, bringing horror implacable.
A lonely runaway, missing memories, shouldn't create much of a flap in this community. But young Ella is no ordinary runaway, and by the end of the story, my hair stood on end, goosebumps rippled, and I pondered, "What if this could really happen?"
Heaping helpings of heavy-duty gore, violence, extreme horror, and obscenity season a very rapidly paced tale of a quiet town suddenly cast into uncountable chaos.
Epic horror that was absolutely unputdownable. Fast paced, perfect amount of gore and characters you genuinely wanted to read more about. Brown has hit the nail on the head with this winning novel and i can’t wait to see what’s next for this author!! Ps the Kate/Bremner love making portion got me hot and bothered and I want more!
