I really wanted to like this book. I liked the synopsis and the beginning of the story. But then the MC just got on my nerves. For some reason I just couldn't follow her. Her thoughts were like boom boom boom all over. But yet for someone so smart, she wasnt always there conpletely, and denied her self feeling true emotions. I DNF @ 60% I gave it my all.

This book sets up an interesting cast of characters in an interesting plot. But I’m ambivalent about it on several counts. First, I rarely read any books that range this far into the paranormal, but the author does a good job of setting up the plausibility of the plot. It took me most of the book to begin to like the main character,Lila. Every time she would do something that was positive she’d right away do two things which made her unlikable. It took Devlin and the whole book to get her to the point of wanting to root for her success.

My biggest complaint about the book was the large number of stupid typos. Unlike some of the Amazon Unlimited books I’ve read, someone must have at least run it through a spell checker because most of the typos were missing prepositions, missing definite articles and the like. A few times the typos were correctly spelled words that were just wrong as in one case “ever” where the author clearly meant to say “never”. It appears the book was spell checked, but was not run through a simple grammar checker.

I’d like to continue with the series, but am afraid of running into the same poor editing.

Great thriller

This book was exciting and kept my interest. The main character becomes a detective to find her father‘s murder and stumbles into supernatural criminals. This is a unique angle that I haven’t seen before.

Good book

I enjoyed the first book of this series. Great characters and a very good story line. But please get an new editor, there were so many editing errors that I had to keep rereading a sentence to make sense of it. Looking forward to book 2.

A twisty quirky ride through the paranormal

A young woman losses her Detective father in a bizarre way only to lead her into researching his cases to find out why. If you get past the typos and print errors the reading is fast and fun. A good time for a quiet read.

A fun read

It took a little bit to get into the book, but then I enjoyed it. I woke up in the middle of the night and finished the other half of the book.

The Immortals

First book in the Lila Stone series. Although the story starts slowly the main characters pulled me in quickly. It turns into a wild and unpredictable ride. Complex and interesting, unlike anything I’ve read in UF. Will definitely read on in the series.
