A selection of the best drawings from the classic 1920 to 1930 AR series of looseleaf folders entitled A Practical Exemplar of Architecture. Long out of print, these folders represented a source of authentic 17th and 18th century stonework, woodwork, fireplaces, doorways and similar domestic details. This book makes them available to a wide audience of architects, interior designers, builders and the owners of houses of those periods.






A companion volume Three Centuries of Architectural Craftsmanship extends these examples into a wider range of building types.
