One of the world's leading shiatsu authorities explains the basics of acupressure massage and demonstrates techniques for using feet and toes to achieve a balanced, deep massage
Three and a half stars. I LOVE old, groovy 1970's massage and yoga publications, and this is as cutely crunchy as they get. Yamamoto wearing a t-shirt saying "Brown Rice is Nice!" Cute, hairy models! So good. The massage information and routine itself is pretty good, too, and one I plan to practice a bit as I wet my feet (heh) in barefoot massage. However, this book is from the 70's, so movement science has progressed beyond some of the stretches and exercises included in the book, which would likely be contraindicated now.
This is not an introduction to shiatsu, rather a way to refresh your memory about barefoot shiatsu workshops. It is better to read this book if you practise shiatsu already otherwise it can seem obscure.
