When my mother decided to pull me out of school I didn’t say anything. When she homeschooled me, isolated me, kept me fearful of my peers, I followed along. When she packed me up and sent me across the country to live with my grandmother in the one-stoplight town of Lee Vines, I did as she said. But now that she’s left me here I’m on my own. I can make my own decisions. Make my own mistakes. And that includes if I let in the four boys that live next door. This is the complete four-book series of Starlee's journey in The Wayward Sons, a reverse-harem YA romance. Book 1: Starlee's Heart Book 2: Starlee's Turn Book 3: Starlee's Home Book 4: Starlee's Hope Why fall in love once when you can do it over and over again?
***Possible Spoilers*** 3.5 Stars Book #1 Starlee’s Heart Well damn this was so much cleaner than anything I’ve read in a loooong while 😛 Aside from the cleanliness this is also on the cutesy side very much trying to stay within the YA range (likely because the characters are all in high school). Aside from a kinda ridiculous name Starlee lives a very sheltered life. Her mothers fears everything and one teenage outburst later has her packing up Starlee to live with her mother over the summer in some hodunk small town. While Starlee is pretty calm it does seem she revolts a bit over the summer. Sure it takes her weeks but she’s not shy asking for kissing or going all the way with the bad boys next door. Summers over now and her mother is dragging her back home. Curious how she’ll find her way back to the guys, obviously it’s inevitable. Book #2 Starlee’s Turn Kind of ends all woe is me and I’m not a fan. Unnecessary drama and mean girl sh*t now that Starlee ran away from him to return to grandmas house-let’s be honest, this was mostly because of the guys. She wants to have the senior year experience she was almost denied being homeschooled for quite awhile. Of course this comes with a dramatic shift in her life and a whole new distance blossoms between her and her mother. Minor cliffy but nothing major. Book #3 Starlee’s Home Everyone is towing the line now that the brothers have been taken from Sierras home and her foster status is now under review. The guys are not supposed to engage in anything nefarious or even have sex but you know teens, they find a way to skirt rules! Starlee’s mom comes through in the end which was hella surprising but not sure how this will play out. The groups relationship teeters during this book. No one knows where they stand and unfortunately they have more pain ahead. Only one book left and they’re all still in that first love high but kinda immature so let’s see how they find their HEA with everyone against them. Book #4 Starlee’s Hope The gang is graduating but now their future remains unclear with college and adulthood looming. This book seemed to fly by and while there is a decent epilogue I guess (as always) I was hoping for a little more. These books were clean, so damn clean I need smut Stat! Was good to see Starlee mend her relationship with her mom though I’m a little lost on the whole Sierra situation. Her behaviors kinda make me think there was more going on with her than we knew. Decent read but did have its slow moments and all the fade to black moments, or the occasional smidge or two of detailed intimacy. Funny cause it seems to me now the author enjoys writing on both ends of the spectrum because some of her other work is rather dark & gritty. Nothing at all like this clean YA set with a harem romance.
I don't know how I got involved with reverse harem but my very first series was by C.L. Stone. My husband came across this author and the covers looked clean but never knew what I got myself into. Let's just say that I got hooked and needed more! I have read 100's of books and blogging for authors for years!
I fell across this author and series. I was hooked once again! I fell in love with Starlee and her Wayward boys, Dexter, Jake, George, and Charlie! I couldn't get enough and loved how it concluded with years later to give us an awesome conclusion to the series! Book five will be Dexter's sister, Sierra's book, and fixing to dive into that one next!
I loved Sierra and her Supernatural series addiction with several references and names dropped in this series as well!
This was sweet, and I very much enjoyed the fact that despite being kids, the main characters were, above everything else, rational people. Emotion was still there but did not lead to unnecessary drama.
I loved the Wayward Sons and of course Supernatural. But you left so much out like the actual sex ? Was extremely disappointed by the PG sex. I wanted deets! Plus whose baby did she carry ? What happened in Spain ? She never married any of them ? After all that time why not ? What did Dexter do alone all that time?? Really no one cheated after like at least 6 months apart year after year? Deets we need Deets!
I loved that Supernatural was a running theme throughout the book and I loved the bond the five of them shared.. My only issue was that the dog went from being called Growley because he barks and it's a funny play on a supernatural character then to be changed to Crowley half way through.
I think this was a Wattpad story someone decided to publish.
The first book has a lot of editing issues. That gets better around the middle of the second book. A lot of continuity errors throughout the series, particularly in the last book and a lot of stuff that just doesn’t make any sense. Would not recommend.
Loved every chapter. Characters and plot were very well written, hard to put down, and the relationship between all 5 was amazing and intriguing that it kept me wrapped up in their story. Can't wait to read my next book or series by Angel Lawson
I absolutely adored this series. I enjoyed watching Starlee and the boys grow and their relationships bloom. I was a little nervous in the end and didn’t know if there’d be a happily ever after or not. Great series and I loved the whole SPN involvement!
I really enjoyed this box set. And of course I love binge reading. I really enjoyed the writing and the characters and I love the ending. That they all stayed together and it works for them.
Omgosh this book was amazing the Starlee she was amazing girl so in tune to her boys giving them each a different experience they all were different and she knew and more she loved them and they with her ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This seriously might be my favorite series to date....I love Angels stories, she's amazing. This one hit close to home in a way I adored and cherished. I love Starlee and her boys they're awesome and the love they share is nothing short of amazing. Her relationship with her mom coming full circle was good for everyone. Her grandmother wad hoot, every grandparent should be that way. 5+ stars from me.
