While it started out okay, it slowly became boring. Reading short bits at a time, I eventually finished it. It was the flip side of an Ace Double, the other side is JUNKIE by William Lee (William S. Burroughs).

Helbrant gives a detailed insiders view into the life of undercover work working for the Federal Bureau of Narcotics. He travels to man different states like New York and Louisiana trying wiggle his way into the hearts of and minds of dopers and dealers. After reading this, I thought the entire process of drug/law enforcement hadn't changed much from the 1930s until now. Addicts will always exsist as will the manufactures and sellers. And there is always someone like Helbrant help put them away only to have more drug users and distributiors pop up in their place.
