Oh my! One of the best heroes in a long time! I love Light! I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I want to see what happens to other characters that were on this book. Maverick for one! He is such a gentlemanly kind of guy.... Well blood lifer. I have questions!!?? Waiting for the next!!

Light is a blood lifer in love with a human, Kathy, and to protect her, she must leave her while he hunts down the biggest threat to their relationship, Versailles. Three weeks ago he's left her, and he's trying to stay on the straight and narrow until he can get back to her.
The local vampires are in the Moon Cult. The moment they met Kathy and Light, they wanted the duo to join. But neither of them are okay with the kinds of sacrifices this cult is making.
Blood Gods is as much about Light's love for Kathy as it is his desire to take down Versailles. Being orphaned at a young age, he's drawn to the idea of family, but being a vampire, it's not something he can make happen. This story flits back and forth between the present and the events that have led up to the present. While there are minimal characters, Johns has done an excellent job with them. I love her books so I am anxious to see where this series goes.

Wow... I have always been a fan of Rosemary A Johns. This book showed me no matter where she takes these books, they will always be epic!! This is the story of Light and Kathy. Their love is truly magical, he is a vampire(blood lifer) and she is human. And he gives up everything to be with her. Now there is a secret cult hunting Light and they are taking children. Light vows to stop them, it's the only way to save the humans and his one true love. Light is my favorite character and this book let me see what he went through before Blood Dragons. This book shows you a dark side that will keep you on a thrill ride. You are pulled into the story with so much suspense you can not put the book down. It is just awesome and be ready, this is one book you will not forget.

Now, let me start this off by saying that when I started reading this book I didn't know exactly what to expect. I was in a bit of a personal fog, but once I picked this book up and started reading I was hooked. The author introduces us to a vampire and his human love. They are exiled because he dared to tell her about Blood Lifers and their existence instead of staying true to the Blood Lifer way and remaining in the shadows. But it seems that this is the end of them flitting from shadow to shadow. A beautiful and dangerous vampire is seeking sacrifices for the Blood God and in snatching a small child that Light and his love were just cooing over a target has been placed on them.
Rosemary A. Johns brings dynamic and engaging characters with this story. The story has several letters from Light to Kathy and they kept me page-turning. I kept wondering...is she getting the letters? Did something happen to her? The author gives me so much with this story. Light straddles the line of what he is and what he wishes to be. I'm not gonna lie...I'm diggin' Maverick. LOL! I honestly hope that they cross paths again.
There isn't anything that I don't like about this book. The author has actually piqued my interest to get the Rebel Vampire books and read those. I've actually read one, but it was the second in the series and I struggled to get into it, but I think that this story helps set the stage for me and I'm looking forward to reading these books.
If you are a fan of Rosemary A. Johns then I highly recommend that you grab this book and dive in. So much is packed into this book and I loved every minute of it. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Rosemary Johns does it again with this newest installment! She keeps on delivering with her AWESOME rebel series. Light is a vampire who left his old ways behind for the love of a human…Kathy! He faces the most difficult decisions when coming up against the most long-lived of Blood Lifers, Versailles! Innocents are being sacrificed to the Blood Gods, and Light was one who escaped eons ago! He will have to make the choice of becoming a monster again or staying true to his once in a lifetime lover! Rosemary Johns gives us another EXCELLENT book in her vampire rebel series! She delivers the difficulties of choosing between one’s nature and will to change and survive at any cost! The love that Light and Kathy share is one we all dream about having! It will touch your hearts how devoted they are to one another in light of any circumstance. But, there is another who wants Light and Kathy both with an obsession that could lead to an unparalleled fight! Who is it? What does this person really want? How long will he or she wait before acting? How far will this person go to prove the devotion held for the both of them? That is another story for another time! I found this a fascinating tale to read as Light's constant love for Kathy affects all his hopes and decisions in his fight against evil. He goes through many twists and turns in his quest to either become a monster or stay true to his great love Kathy as he tries to defeat his enemy. A great start to a new series that is well written and worth getting to read. This is my honest opinion.

An intriguing story of humans, vampires, gods and sacrifices! The concept was interesting it was a little hard to follow at times with the jumping around from the present, past etc... but overall it was an interest dark exciting read.

Light is a blood lifer who has gave up everything to be with Kathy who is human and the love of his life. They have lived happily together until a secret cult shows up and starts taking children. Light escaped from them long ago and vows to stop them again. There are twists and turns as Rosemary is quite the story teller and will keep you on the edge of your seat till the end of the book. Enjoy.

This book hadn't worked for me as I wanted. I just feel that it was ok.
The style of the narration was totally unexpected to me and... Well, I think this is what made this book miss a hit for me.
A story of Light, a Blood Lifer, that loves Kathy, a human. Sucks right? Add to it some dangerous cult and sacrifices! With that everything will be changing fast.
Who is who? What is going on? Will Light manage to survive and be with Kathy?
