Nick Stevens was described by those who knew him as the quiet, good guy. He was the hometown hero people called when their furnace went out, their roof collapsed, or they needed some muscle. But no one knew that he secretly was an artist. His passion for home renovation and woodworking gave his quiet life meaning, and he had his eye on a gorgeous historical century home just outside of town that he knew he could restore to its former glory as a popular inn, if he could only save enough money. When celebrity bad-boy, and all-around pain in the ass Reese Michaels comes to town and buys up his dream, Nick is livid. No way is he going to let some Hollywood flash-in-the-pan steal his future or charm his town. If only the man wasn’t so damn tempting.Reese Michaels had it all, a popular home improvement reality show, a lush, luxurious life in L.A. and friends that surrounded him morning, noon and night. That was until the heavy weight of fame caused him to lose everything, wildly and publicly. Now he thought it best to retreat to small town living, buy an old house and plan his comeback. The only problem was local carpenter Nick Stevens. He needed to stay far away from Nick, his perfect face, perfect body, and everything resembling a perfect temptation. Please This book contains adult language and steamy adult activities, it is intended for 18+ Adults Only. Jerry Cole is a gay author who lives in California & enjoys writing love stories. Jerry has been writing fiction since he was a child. As a young adult, he worked as a freelance writer in the evenings & on weekends. Jerry started writing gay romance stories several years ago, but initially just for his own entertainment & occasionally sharing stories with his friends. In the summer of 2015 he published his first gay romance short story on Amazon. Overwhelmed by the positive response he decided to quit his “day job” & took up writing gay romance full time. When he’s not writing steamy M/M romance he enjoys globetrotting, watching movies with family and friends, working out, & being dragged down the road by his two Great Danes.
Jerry Cole is a successful California author who has been writing since his youth, both as a freelance writer and now as a highly respected and popular gay romance author. He has published in excess of 65 books to date – each being popular with a very large audience.
One of the many reasons Cole’s books are so well received is his courage in taking on problematic relationships and sharing enough insight into his character development to allow the story to be both sensitive and erotically charged. Now Jerry adds a new dimension to his repertoire – small town quiet good guy in competition with a bad-boy wealthy media celebrity! This excellent story explores that tenuous arena of ambition/dreams versus attraction of opposites. Jerry makes his two characters credible and the manner in which greed and power causes falls – and sensitivity to basic needs intervenes to create an unlikely relationship.
The manner in which the story unravels marries art and passion and identity and makes for an illuminating premise – and of course the erotica is very present. This is a fine new novel by a man who grows with each story he explores. Recommended.
The truth is not always what it seems. And from great catastrophes come great opportunities.
Nick Stevens comes to find his idol, and one of the main inspirations for his carreer as a handy-man interested in buying his dream home, a place he's been saving up to buy and renovate as a B&B.
Although it seems like an antagonistic relationship at first, Reese Michaels comes to a mid-ground and finds a viable solution for both of them, since he needs a great project for a great comeback.
In this book you can see a nice relationship blossom, you learn with both of them the beauty in the other, experience their bonding and the overcoming of their own prejudices and missconceptions.
Home renovation, sweet love and steamy sex along with a short reading made this a really nice experience for me. Jerry Cole managed to write beautiful men with real feelings and issues, and put them to build a beautiful relationship. I would definitely recommend this for my friends interested in an introduction to M/M Romance.
I received an ARC for this book in exchange for my honest review.
Reclaim My Heart tells the story of home improvement celebrity Reese, whose life took a turn for the worse in Los Angeles with his ex-boyfriend . Thinking he needs a comeback in order to be in the public’s good graces again, he decides to purchase and remodel a run down inn in the middle of BFE, Ohio. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t expect to crash into Nick whose dream was shattered once Reese purchased the inn. We get to see these two men whose lives have been turned upside down try to pick up the pieces and rebuild their lives and hearts while rebuilding this inn. It’s a shorter story but I enjoyed the short read while laughing at Nick and Reese during their little cat fights. The sexual tension between those two could be cut with a knife and reading how it all unfolds and seeing their hatred for each other turn into attraction and love put a smile on my face. I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
This book is an easy read and oh so very romantic. Nick has his eyes on a property to turn it into a B&B and has saved for a deposit for a long time. Then Reese shows up and bought it. This makes Nick very mad and told Rees that this is his house and that he has worked a long time to try and get enough money together to buy it but came up a bit short. Reese, after thinking about it long and hard, offers Nick a partnership. This is where the actual story starts to get interesting. Can this two get rid of their animosity and work together? Do they become friends or are they staying enemies? You will have to get the book to find out. This book is, like most of Jerry’s Books, well worth the read.

Not everything is easy as Nick can testify. Working multiple jobs over most of his adult life, he is trying to save money to buy an old house to renovate to be a B&B. Reese had it all and now doesn't. Life is harder than he has had to face before. Running away and hiding is the easy part. Buying a house to get back on his feet is not hard. What is hard is trying to get Nick on his side when he is buying the house from underneath him. An a stalkerish ex-boyfriend and a growing relationship with Nick while trying to remodel the old house annnnd keeping his sister happy is a battle that he intends to win. An excellent, short, contemporary romance with some controversy to give the story some grit. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC boo
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. Reese had fled LA after tapes of him was released online, losing everything because of it. With a fresh start he moves to Brush Fall, Ohio. Meeting Nick the day he was to buy and renovate the old Inn. becoming partners the two, fighting the attraction for weeks only to break when Nick kisses him to calm him after an accident mishap. Can Nick trust Reese with his heart or will he run when Jackson comes to find him? Such a sweet little read of enemies to lovers type theme With Reese and Nick. Can a LA boy fall in love with a small town boy.
This is the story of Nick and Reese. Anothervwinner for Mr Cole. I loved this book. It is filled with drama and fun. The chemistry between them is amazing. It is written wonderfully. I loved the dynamic between them. This story takes you on an emotional journey. It is written with so much feeling and feels so real that you become part of their lives. I could not put it down. I definitely recommend it.
I received this book as an Arc and I am reviewing it voluntarily.
Not used to this many editing mistakes in a Jerry Cole story, mostly missing words and [many, many] fractured sentences. The biggest mistake was where Reese was telling Nick why he & Jackson had broken up, but earlier in the book the reasoning was different. In a book this short, that's not easy to forget when you're almost to the end in a matter of hours. Anyway, it was a short, sweet redemption story but the romance was rushed and everything was tied up too perfectly.
Nick has been planning on remodeling an inn for years and is upset when movie star Reese shows up and buys it. Reese needs a great comeback and decides remodeling the old house is a perfect way. They collide. They strike an uneasy truce to work together. I love how each of these men grew to be their best selves. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
A simple short story written in classic fairytale style, complete with a villain, remorse, miscommunication and redemption- all those elements needed for a classic fairytale.
Another great book by Jerry Cole. It drew me in from the very first page and I couldn't put it down. I absolutely loved Reese and Nick and I didn't want their story to end. Loved it!
Another great read from Jerry Cole. Enemies to lovers over a run down mansion. An obvious attraction and a wonderful thawing of hearts. Read it and enjoy.
