Everything looked blurred in the pale light that was gradually diluting the darkness. The dawn was fast approaching, and a soft pink tinted the sky. Outside my window, the snow fell slow, silent, a cruel, greedy lover caressing the earth. It was magical, wonderful, and . . . terrifying. I watched as it sifted down from the sky, covering the world in soft white death. It was killing everything. Winter had arrived and had never left. The frost had turned the land barren. Nothing grew, and what food there was wasn’t even enough to feed the animals. People were hungry and desperate. The seasons were no longer in balance. As Queen, my life was intricately bound up with the life of my world. It was my duty to protect my people. But I’d failed. Faery was dying and it was all my fault. The mission I’d summoned my three dragons for was a last, desperate attempt to turn things around and save my world.
Flames of Ice is the prequel to The Lost Fae, a paranormal Reverse Harem series, intended for audiences 18 years and older.

I found this book lacking in the action found in the first book of the series. While it introduced Emma’s mother and some of the powers we can expect Emma to be able to wield it didn’t give much information at all about what was happening at the time her mother sent Jacob and Emma to Earth. There were only 12 years between the time Emma and Jacob were sent to Earth and when she met the Drakon brothers. It would have been helpful had the story continued at least one more chapter to described who was attacking the palace, what happened to Emma’s mother, etc. I can only assume that it’s either the dragon king or her failure to execute her brother has come back to haunt her. Either way, this information would have been insightful.
This is the prequel of the serie, written after book 2, but tell us about our heroine mother and the events that leads to her living alone with her father. I will not reveal more, because this story can be read at any point in the serie and it does reveal a bit, so if you are like me and like surprises, I could recommend to read the book after the first or even the second. Just for fun, really. Anyway, this short story (you can read it in a day easily) give a lot of insight into the politics and the past, wile introducing a new/old soul mate quartet. Knowing the past is the way to the future, so I can't wait for the third book to come to life.
I found this prequel to be a quick and enjoyable read. This book answered some of the blank spots about the main characters family background in the first two books. I found that I really enjoyed the twin flames characters and how they were written. The mother/lead/main character in this book was complicated and well written my only dislike of her character is that she rambled a bit too much for my taste. Aside from that I really enjoyed this read and highly recommend it. I do want to mention that I don’t feel it has to be read first in fact I feel like you could read it at any point while reading the series and I can’t wait for the next one!
I really enjoy the Lost Fae series, I've read both books that have been released so far and I had so many questions about the events that took place in the past. Flames of Ice is the prequel story, it's the story of Emma's parents, of how they met and what happened in faery all those years ago.
Flames of Ice was a quick that a little bit of steamy romance and was an enjoyable read. Some of my questions about the past were answered but now I have all new questions. I am so read for the next book in the series.
This book is Written after book 2 in the series, but is clearly the prequel. This book is a short read and gives more background information for characters in the following books. I must admit I have not read the other books in the series but I believe it does not matter if you have read the other books first before reading this. The Main female lead Victoria is a strong person but needs to lean to share her responsibilities. I loved her interactions with the male leads and fell in love with Kyle. This really is a great little read and I cannot wait to get started on the other books.
I really enjoyed reading about the queen of faery. Who is Emma's mom from the lost fae series. We got to see as the queen meet her twin flames and tries to save her lands. It was nice to get a taste of what happened before.
This prequel surprised me with how much conflict was put into such a short story. I love the story line and look forward to reading the next book in the series. Victoria surprised me with the powers that she had. Victoria's first sight of the 3 dragons was priceless. And recognizing them as her Twin Flames from her visions was even better.
This prequel bring us part of Emma’s past, the story of her parents. It was heart-melting and heartbreaking. Victoria is courageous. Her Twin Flames strong. But nothing is stronger than fate. I loved and hated it.
Informative but very short prequel to the series „The Lost Fae“. I read both of the books ( by the way-they are great!), but had a few questions about the fearies, this book about Emma´s mother and fathers made a lot clearer.
I have read both books released in this series and this was a brilliant prequel. You get a glimpse into the events that have lead up to the other books. You can read this before or after the others in this series.
This prequel is great for tying up some questions for those of the readers who have read the other books and is also a wonderful lead in for new readers.
