Personally I think this is a great book for someone who is entirely new to fashion!!!
A big portion of the book emphasise on the design, but at the end we are brought to the other side of fashion - the business itself. From the manufacturing processes, distribution, into types of fashion businesses and how it works. The design part itself is so comprehensive and detailed. It starts with the elements of design: value, colour, etc, and then we are brought to textile, fabrics, processes and many others. I love how approachable the book is - it shows how this can consequently result to that (the most basic example is how vertical line adds height where horizontal adds width, dark colours add a slimming effect, etc). There were a lot of pictures supporting the theories, making it so easy for readers to understand what the writer is referring to. As an addition, I believe this book is created by an Australian (do correct me if I'm wrong), thus it has lots of Australian references- I live in Australia so this is SO relatable. I would definitely recommend you to buy this book if you want to know fashion in detail. I felt like this book is the entire fashion course (probably you can use this book for your fashion diploma degree!)
