A satirical look at the various hipsters plaguing the music industry today from website www.yourscenesucks.com. Includes 38 scenesters from indie, emo, metal, punk and every other genre you can think of.
Ever since I was a tween, sometime in the 00s, I’ve wanted to purchase “Your Scene Sucks.” I remember browsing the website with amusement, and fascination, wondering who I would become as a teenager. Fortunately, I did not become any of the scenesters in this book—although quite a few bands I adore are mentioned.
It was such a fun trip down memory lane reading through the characters and searching up their preferred musicians. At this point in time it’s more like an anthropological documentation of subcultures in the 00s. If this is a time period you tend to recollect or if you were into the alternative music scene this is the book for you! Also, Rob Dobi’s art rocks.
I chose to purchase the book, but I highly recommend searching “Your Scene Sucks” because much of the book is available online.
FINALLY I GOT THE BOOK WHICH SUMMARIZES ALL MY TEENAGE YEARS!
If you were into emo/scene culture in mid-late 00s you'll remember the website yourscenesucks where they mocked scene kids, metalheads and other youth subcultures with acid remarks and iconic designs.
The only book which witness to specific movements like crunkcore.
