This is a delightful book for any preschool-age child. It begins with a picture of Noah, who we learn loves nursery school. He loves painting, playing, and especially loves Shabbat in school. On each day of the week, Noah runs to school and asks if that day is a holiday. The teacher replies no but says that the class is going to make alphabet soup, play with puzzles, celebrate a birthday, etc. At the end of the book we learn that Noah associates "holiday" with Shabbat. The pictures in the book follow the story being told by the words. At the end of the book is a challah recipe, which looks easy to make but I still have to try it.
This book is adorable! It’s sweet and fun and repetitive in that nice preschool book way. It’s a great conversation-starter for social-emotional discussions (why isn’t Noah eating his snack?), and it ends with Shabbat party! We’re all big fans.
