Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress Book One is the first book in The Maclellan Sisters Trilogy by Lucinda Race. This is an original, heart-warming story- with romance, sisterhood, family bonds, family heirlooms, and a little bit of enchantment. I really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to reading the other two books in this sweet trilogy.
Here we meet the MacLellan sister- Jamie, Kenzie, and Grace who receive a package after the death of their beloved Gran. Inside the box is her antique wedding dress, the family plaid, a brooch, and a letter. They discover a family legend surrounding the dress- that whoever wears it will be able to see their future. It is their Gran’s wish that they try the dress on. But being fiercely independent and staunchly single- will they respect their grandmother’s desire- or will they shrug it off as silly nonsense?
This is Jamie’s story- she is the oldest sister and is the most sceptical of the three, but intrigue wins out in the end- and so the story takes off.
There was definitely a ‘Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants’ vibe to this story, but with its own unique identity.
The story has quite a fast pace, and did seem a little rushed at times. But overall, it was a lovely story. Looking forward to seeing what happens in Book Two.

Thank you, Lucinda Race!

This book was just what I needed!

Meet the MacLellan sisters, Jamie, Kenzie, and Grace – all smart, ambitious, and very single. They’re happy to be so, successfully going about their lives in charming Vermont. That is, until a mysterious package arrives from their beloved “Gran” from Scotland, who passed away. Gran’s antique wedding dress is purported to have magical powers. If an unmarried descendant wears the dress and looks in the mirror, she’ll see her future. That can’t possibly be true. Or can it? Dare Jamie, the keeper of this family heirloom, try it on and find out?

The sisterly dynamics are great in this book, their love and support for one another. Plus, I truly enjoyed how they eat out together, work out, cook in, and drink wine. I may even need to take up fly fishing! When two handsome brothers join the story–one a chef–the fun, food, and romance gets even better. By the end I was totally cheering for the hero. But, no spoilers from me.

This book was a delight to read, and Lucinda has a way of pulling you right into the story. Whether you’re in Vermont or later in glorious Scotland at the family farm, you’ll love experiencing what unfolds for these sisters. Love, family, romance, and magic! What’s not to enjoy? Plus, I adore the cover.

I’ll be reading the next books in this series to find out if the other two sisters try on the magic dress. Five stars for this heartwarming read from me!

The first book in Lucinda Race's "The MacLellan Sisters Trilogy" introduces readers to Jamie, Kenzie, and Grace MacLellan - three professional and independent single women living in Vermont. Their lives revolve around each other and there isn't a man in sight for any of them (at least that they can see!). The sisters have sworn off relationships and marriage for fear of losing their independence.

This resonated with me. Relationships can suck you up and spit you out into this weird automaton hybrid of you and your partner. We all know that couple who can't do anything without the other - that girlfriend who can't bear to leave her husband home alone so he gets dragged along on girls' nights to wine-flowing dinners and romantic comedies or afternoons spent traipsing the mall in search of the perfect outfit. These sisters love themselves enough to know that they do not want to lose who they are. I dig that.

And then there is the wedding dress. Grandmothers are gods gift to little girls (at least in this reader's opinion) and one gifting a wedding dress similar to the jeans in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" from the grave just made me fall in love a little bit more with this story.

What transpires in "Old and New" is a journey of epic proportions for the oldest MacLellan, Jamie, taking her from singleton for life to being open to the possibilities that life has to offer, she just had to know where to look.

I am looking forward to book two.

Beautiful cover! I read the premise and bought a copy right away. I'm one of three sisters, and I loved the witty banter and sibling relationship portrayed in this book. That sisterly bond never dies. The writing hooked me from page one, and I read it over a weekend. I will be investing in the rest of the trilogy.

I am so going to love this trilogy from Lucinda Race! Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress, is the first in the trilogy and sets things up rather beautifully for a wild and magical ride until the end. I adored this book and the premise, along with the sisters, and fell in love with them pretty quickly. The banter in this novel makes you feel as if you are right there, as it flows beautifully. I can’t wait to see how the next few books unfold as well.

In this one we meet all three sisters, Grace, Kenzie, and Jamie, with Jamie being the eldest and the first sister that we get to know really well in this book. The girls lost their Gran and an extremely valuable package with an enchanted wedding dress and more from her after her death. Each of the girls doubt that the dress will do anything for them and rather enjoy the single life. So what happens when Jamie takes the plunge and slips on the dress? For the magic and more details you will have to read this gem for yourself. I cannot wait until I get my hands on the next book in this series!

This is the first book that I have read from this author and wow she blew me away. This book is the perfect way to start an addictive sereis. I love a good small town romance but this author exceeded all my expectations. You can’t help but to fall in love with these characters. I could not put this book down until the end. It only took me a couple of days to devour this amazing story.

Jamie never wants to get married. She loves her job and family that’s all she needs. Jamie gets a package from her deloveded great grandmother. She opens it and she finds a beautiful wedding dress. Jamie was told that this dress is enchanted but she doesn’t belive it. One night she has a coursity tontry it on so she does because she knows she will never wear a wedding dress again. When she puts it on she sees a male figure. She tells her sisters and they think that he is the one for her. Jamie doesn’t believe it until she meets two guys that she absolutely likes. Will Jamie find the one or was it all just a dream?

“Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all”, except this time, the magic is not in the mirror, but is on the onlooker of the mirror, who is to don a specific attire. The seeker is supposed to try on a “wedding dress” and look into the mirror to foresee her prince charming.
The series is a trilogy about three sisters, which makes me think that each book belongs to one sister. The plot of the first book revolves around the oldest sister Jamie. Jamie along with the two sisters Grace and Kenzie visits her grandparent’s homestead in Scotland, after their grandmother passes away. Their father inherits the farm.
Their grandmother leaves them a wedding dress, their family heirloom as an inheritance to the sisters along with a letter and a brooch. The sisters first laugh it off, but out of curiosity, the oldest, Jamie tries the wedding dress just to know if the mirror will show her current date as her prince charming.
But the fate, the wedding dress and the mirror have a surprise planned for her when she is caught unaware between two twins, one who fits her requirements perfectly and the other who stirs her heart. Whom will Jamie choose?
A very sweet romance story, perfect to be made as a rom-com movie. Loved it. And a story which also explores the relationship between the three sisters.

Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress (The MacLellan Sisters Trilogy Book 1) by Lucinda Race, was really a great love story. There are so many things about this story that makes it a great love story. I think what I like the most about it, is the strength of the family, how the family bonds are threaded throughout the entire book. Not only with the sisters in this little tale but also the brothers. Because you know if you have a love story involving sisters then you also have to have brothers. This is a story about three sisters, Jamie, Kenzie, and Grace and their friends Steve and Caleb. It's a love story that you will feel good reading and you will feel even better at the end. Do be aware there is one little mature situation but it in no way distracts from the story. When you need a feel good read this one will do the trick.

Delightful Piece Of Work!

Great story that flows so smoothly and is easy to read. An original tale that is highly believable. I loved the family camaraderie, friendship, devotion, support and love, exhibited by all three siblings. So heartwarming! The entire familial closeness was unbelievable. Then there was the delightful romance of the eldest sister. Wonderful stuff! Scrumptious! Can hardly wait to read about the two other sisters and their tale of romance. Thank you so much Ms. Race for this delightful piece of work!

Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress Book 1 (The MacLellan Sisters Trilogy)

Lucinda Race
4 out of 5 stars

Old and New is the first book in the MacLellan Sisters Trilogy. This was the first book I have read by Lucinda Race but as I have found often with new to me authors lately, it will not be my last. I am the middle child, between two sisters so the sisterhood aspect of this novel, or trilogy is what drew me in initially. Old and New was an engaging read with imagery that transports you to the same time and place as the characters. I was interested in the story and the characters from the first page to the last and I am excited to know there are more books to come. If you are in the mood for a charming read, I really do recommend this one.

Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress is the first book in the MacLellan Sisters Trilogy by Lucinda Race. Lucinda Race is an author that I have read before so was really looking forward to reading more of her work.
This is a great romance book but it is quite different from a lot of romance books that I have read before. Much of the book is centred around the three MacLellan sisters Jamie, Kenzie and Grace and a lot of time is devoted to scenes where the three of them are together finding out about their recently departed Grandmother and the enchanted wedding dress that they have been sent following her death. The three sisters are very different and I loved getting to know all three of them. I loved how close they are to each other and the support that they give to each other.
In this book we are concentrated on the oldest sister Jamie and her budding relationship with lawyer Steve. Jamie is waiting on the sparks flying and the butterflies giving her the signs that he is ‘the one’ only they don’t appear except when his brother Caleb makes an appearance.
I loved reading about the three sisters and the Sullivan brothers. There is such great camaraderie when they are all together and I could read about them for hours. I really can’t wait for the next book to see what Lucinda Race has in store next for the MacLellan sisters.

Wow, this book was an amazing read that kept me guessing throughout. At first, I was a little frustrated by the largely one POV but then I realised that helped add to the mystery. The characters were supremely well developed - at times they frustrated me and at times I was cheering them on - just like you would anyone in your life I'm sure. This was the first of Lucinda Race's books that I have read, but it won't be the last - beginning with the other two books in this trilogy!

Jamie, Kenzie and Grace are all career drive ladies. A relative passed away and they are given an family heirloom along with a prophecy will these things actually come true. Or is it all a old fairytale. This is a very heart warming story about sisterhood and bonds. This is a heart-warming story to read.

The premise of the magic in an heirloom wedding dress that promises love to whoever puts it on, is the basis of this series. The love and support from the sisters is heartwarming, something that family is all about. The book pulled me in right from the first and I will definitely read the rest of the books in the series.

Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress (The MacLellan Sisters Trilogy #1) by Lucinda Race

This was the first book I've read by the author, but it won't be my last. Old and New is the first book in The MacLellan Sisters Trilogy. To say that I can't wait for book 2 is an understatement.

Jamie, oldest MacLellan sister, gets the pleasure of keeping her grandmother's things. That includes a wedding dress that's supposed to be enchanted. Jamie tries it on and she meets a guy. What happens when she falls for his twin? The quote I choose for Jamie is: “It rolls off the tongue and I’ve never hung out with one before. You’ve got skills I only dream of having.”

Caleb, twin brother to Steve Sullivan, meets Jamie when she meets with Steve. When Steve lets him know Jamie invited him for dinner with them He doesn't realize he's intruding on a date. He then finds himself drawn to Jamie. The quote I choose for Caleb is: “Jamie, I’ve wanted you from the moment I laid eyes on you. When you struggled with the door knob at Steve’s all this, is all I’ve wanted. To be with you.”

Romance readers, fairytale believers this book is for you! I highly recommend it and I'm not sorry. Lucinda Race has amazed me.

Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress (The MacLellan Sisters Trilogy Book 1) by Lucinda Race is a wonderful romance story. It is nice to read something that is original and different from the norm. The story flows nicely although at times it seemed a little rushed but you are soon swept away on the journey from Vermont to Scotland and I love Scotland so it was easy to see the author’s vision. I loved the family dynamics and camaraderie, their support and friendship and family bonds to each other.

The story focuses around the MacLellan sisters and a wedding dress with a legend.

I am looking forward to see what Lucinda gives us next.

Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress by Lucinda Race is the first book in the MacLellan Sisters trilogy. This is a fun story with some great characters, especially the 3 sisters. I loved the idea of this book. An enchanted wedding dress that reveals the future of the wearer - who wouldn’t want to try it on!!
The author has done well with the story and created a fun and entertaining book. It is quite a fast paced book, which maybe wasn’t always needed, but the author has still managed to create a story that will keep you turning the pages. For me my favourite part of this book is the characters. As an only child I would have loved to have sisters like this to grow up with. They came across as so close and so caring it was lovely to read about.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

The MacLellan sisters Jamie, Grace and Kenzie recently lost their Gran and after a box turns up with items that she had kept of her from her own Grandmother to give to her granddaughters the girls start to learn more about their heritage as well as start taking a look out their own lives. The sisters relationship is wonderful and I really liked Caleb, but Steven his brother frustrated me, however learning more about Steven and his past it made more sense. Jamie decides to try on the wedding gown which leads to new friends, complicated feelings, surprise connections, stringer family bonds and moving forward with life.

We meet 3 sisters whose grandmother sends them a special package after her passing. It has her wedding dress in it which, if worn, will show the person wearing it their future love. This first book is about oldest sister Jamie. She wants to be an independent single woman but when that dress speaks to her, she changes her mind and wants to marry and build a future. Her hero is quite fantastic and sweet. This was written nicely and with all kinds of romance.

Book Review: Old and New ( A MacLellan Sisters Trilogy) Book 1
Author: Lucinda Race
FIVE STARS
A story of finding love when you aren't even looking for it. After a wedding dress is passed down to her, can Jamie resist the temptation of trying it on?
This story follows Jamie and her two sisters through a remarkable time in their lives. Single and very independent and career driven, Jamie has decided she will not marry and will not lose her independence. But does life hold something different for her?
This book is really good. I totally enjoyed this first book in the series and I cannot wait to see what Ms. Race has in story for us in the second book of this trilogy.

Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress Book 1
By Lucinda Race
4 stars

This was such a wonderful read, I enjoyed everything about it. The authors writing flowed so well it was a real pleasure to read and I just loved the characters, the relationship they had, the interaction between the and there were certainly times where I could absolutely relate to the things that were going on. This is book 1 in the series and whilst all three sisters are in it this is Jamie’s story and her course to her happily ever after and wedding day. I loved the originality of the story and I am definitely looking forward to the other sisters finding the partner of their dreams through the wedding dress of their late grandmother!
I definitely recommend this story and can’t wait to read the next book!

On paper, Steve is perfect for Jamie. So why does her heart beat faster when she's around his brother, Caleb? I love the closeness that Jamie and her sisters share, such a great support system. Gran's wedding dress truly is magical, as we watch Jamie change and grow. This is an amazing start to the author's new series, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books. Oh this did my romantic sentimental heart so much good. In the midst of so much turmoil in the world at this moment I loved escaping into these pages and reading about these sisters and the treasure from their grandmother. I loved the way Race built each character and relationship. And I adored the way this story unfolded. Book one in a trilogy that I cannot wait to finish - just a beautiful read.

This is the first book in the MacLellan Sisters Trilogy series. I absolutely loved this book. Wonderfully well written I couldn't put it down. I loved how close the sisters are and enjoyed that little touch of magic that their grans wedding dress adds to the story. The sisters have all decided not to get married but with the appearance of the wedding dress has them thinking differently about their choices. Jamie is the oldest and most pragmatic of the three sisters. When she meets Steve, he ticks all the boxes for the perfect guy but the sparks are lacking. Then she meets Caleb Steve's brother and sparks fly. Will Jamie ignore What her logical mind is saying and follow her heart?.

By Lucinda Race
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress (The MacLellan Sisters Trilogy Book 1) by Lucinda Race. It is a romantic story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. I loved reading about the characters of Jamie and Caleb. I grew to care about what happens to them with each chapter that I read. Will their story have a HEA? Read this book to find out. This story has romantic moments as well as times when I was smiling and laughing out loud. It is wonderful that family is so important to the characters. You can feel the love that they all feel for one another. The book has moments that touched my heart as was as some swoon-worthy ones as well. Don’t miss out on a story that is entertaining and will keep your interest throughout the entire book. It has me believing in true love. I highly recommend this story.

Jamie was so stubborn, determined to put her career first, refusing to marry. She pushes love away out of fear. But her grandmother’s magical dress makes her open to the possibilities of marriage. She feels an instant attraction to the Sullivan brothers, but which one? I felt it should be a certain one over the other right away just from her time spent with them. I loved the close connection she has with her sisters and hearing all about Scotland.
