He studied Fine Arts at Musashino University. At first, he was more interested in illustration, printmaking, and painting than in manga. However, when he considered the best way to make a living from his art, he decided to focus on the world of Japanese comics and trained himself, rather than the usual approach of working for several years as an apprentice to an experienced manga artist.
He was still a student when his first work, The Boss Is an Onee, was published. He soon attracted attention for his distinctive drawing style, his fantastical and melancholic plots, and his use of fantasy characters and anthropomorphic animals.

I knew I was probably gonna be just frustrated reading this but I wanted to give the second volume a chance. There were a couple of funny-ish moments (like Nivawa's dad not admitting he's missing his kid) and I liked "Sadako" the neighbour but then on the other hand there is so many scenes which are exactly what I hate: Saito tells something to Nivawa (don't touch anything in the shop) and then Nivawa does against whatever he said anyway and it's all mess and meiwaku and NOT CUTE at all. Yeah, Saito is bad at communicating too but Nivawa is in the human world to learn things AND THEN HE EVEN DOESN'T LEARN. Okay, there was two tiny bits of progress (rain thing and he remembered breaking the flat is a bad thing), woohoo.
"Sadako" was apparently happy in the end that Nivawa did his hardest to befriend her, and it was sweet she finally got a friend. Pestering her still wasn't cool. I don't always dislike this trope; somebody more outgoing almost force-befriending a more withdrawn person, but in the bigger picture it was again a thing Nivawa was told not to do and he did it anyway.
Yeah, I should learn now too and acknowledge this isn't a series for me.
