Men of the North #6-10

Men Of The North Box Set

Rate this book
This is the second box set in Elin Peer's highly praised futuristic Sci-fi Romance series Men of the North.
For the best reading experience and to avoid spoilers, it's recommended to begin with box-set #1 which contains book 1-5.

Enjoy five very different stories that will have you turning pages all night long.

#6 The Genius
With three degrees and the highest measured IQ in the Motherlands, Shelly Summers knows that she’s socially awkward. It doesn’t bother her since as the head engineer for Advances Technologies she has little time for social interactions anyway.

When she learns that one of the testers for the sex-bots her company manufactures is her old crush, Marco, she’s curious to see if he’ll recognize her now that she’s ten years older and no longer has bushy eyebrows and a bad case of acne.

A normal person would have said something when Marco doesn’t recognize her from his past. A normal person would definitely have said something when he mistakes her for an advanced sex robot and thinks his job is to do a test run.
Things are about to get very awkward for this genius…

#7 The Dancer
Sometimes the purest love can turn to the deepest hate.

I was twelve when I promised Solo that I would one day marry him. Maybe I would have if he hadn’t gotten impatient and ruined everything that summer when I was fifteen. For the last seven years I’ve replaced the love I once felt for him with anger over his almost getting me killed.

Willow, a talented Motlander dancer, goes on tour in the Northlands. What should have been a chance for a new beginning brings her face to face with her traumatic past when Solo, a mountain of a man and the fiercest warrior of his generation, is put in charge of her safety against her will. If she can’t get rid of him at least she can return the favor and make his job a nightmare too.

#8 The Athlete
How do you win a soccer game when you dont even want to be on the team?
When Hunter Hercules, the biggest soccer star in the Northlands, is transferred to play in the Motherlands, he’s mad as hell. Not only is their style of soccer different, but they have mixed teams and his female captain, Emanuela, calls him unsophisticated and claims that she’s a better player than him. What a fucking joke!
Someone should have warned her not to mess with an Nman.

#9 The Fighter
I've lived half of my life on each side of the border.
I know what greatness women are capable of and how amazing men can be.
For those Nmen who think I can't be a police officer because I'm a "fragile female," I have only one thing to say; watch me!

Raven is a force of nature who won't take no for an answer. She uses her humor and feistiness to blaze through every obstacle, and right now the biggest one is her rigid boss Leo Da Vinci.

Leo wants her to stay safe in an office categorizing unsolved cases, but Raven is longing for action. That's why when one case turns out to be the unsolved murder case of Dina, the ruler's sister who died when she was fifteen, Raven sets out to solve the mystery and bring the murderer to justice. Little does she know that coming face to face with the troubled past of the Northlands might set off an unwanted avalanche of events and endanger the lives of herself and the people she loves.

#10 The Pacifist
A promise is a promise but this promise is one I should have never made.
Mila, a sweet pacifist born in the Motherlands, has avoided conflicts all her life.

Since I have read the first book in this series, I religiously waited for each new installment and Mrs Elin Peer never disappointed me.
Each tale is perfect mix of humour, personalities clash and awesome and sweet moments.
I can only recommend this wonderful series, even if each story is a standalone, it is best to appreciate the whole background plot to begin with The Protector or the first bundle.
A big fat 5 stars for the whole series.

This is a great series that I can't recommend enough! I read each book individually, but have combined all of my reviews into one here:

The Genius:
Once again Elin Peer weaves an incredible story in this latest installment in the Men of the North Series. I can't help but fall in love with these incredibly crude yet loyal to a fault men who just want to fall in love. This book is the story of Marco and Shelly. Although it is never mentioned I'm pretty sure Shelly has Asperger's Syndrome, which is on the autism spectrum. Having a nephew that also on the autism spectrum, I can tell you that Elin has hit the nail on the head with this character. I love how direct and totally unaware of social etiquette she is. (I think she might be my favorite character so far.) That also makes her perfect for an NMan, by the way. This book had me laughing out loud at times which of course only adds to my feelings on the book. It's a great read and I'm anxiously awaiting the next in the series.

The Dancer:
This 7th book in the Men of the North series captured me so emotionally from the first paragraph. From the onset I was rooting for Willow and Solo to work things out. It was a roller coaster. I found myself having to put the book down a few times and take some deep breaths. Even doing that I stayed up all night until I finished. I just couldn't put it down and had to find out what happens next. I have to say that as much as I LOVED this book, I also found the most disappointing line ever. Quote: (don't worry, it won't spoil anything) "This concludes Men of the North #7 - The Dancer"
That line made me so sad because I just didn't want it to end. And now I have to wait months for book 8!

The Athlete:
Hunter's story. And what a good story it is. Of course all of Elin Peer's stories are good. These Men of the North books have surpassed what I was expecting. Again, of course Elin Peer's books all seem to surpass my expectations. I was drawn to Hunter many books ago when we were first introduced to him. I was excited to finally get to read his story and see him get his happily ever after. All of these books are stand alone stories, but it is best to read them in order to avoid spoilers. And trust me, you will not regret reading any of Ms. Peer's books. I know...I know. I sound like a total fan girl, but I guess I will have to admit that I am a fan girl! I feel fortunate to have discovered her books with her first series (The Slave Series) and have followed her ever since. It is wonderful to see her finally get the recognition that she so deserves. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

The Fighter:
I am trying so hard not to be angry with Elin Peer for this book. It is a wonderfully written book, but oh so emotional. This is book 9 of 10 and at one point during reading an especially emotional chapter I had to put my kindle down and discuss it with my sister...my sister who has not read this series and so before I could share this extremely upsetting information, I had to bring her up to speed with the series. Then she understood my tears. It's been over a week since I finished reading the book, but I just couldn't bring myself to write the review yet. If I think too much (even now a good week later), I cry again. Life can just be unfair sometimes. Yes, I know it is all fictional, but Elin has a way of bringing her characters to life. It seems with each new book she takes it up a notch. I'm looking forward to the final book, but dreading it at the same time. I know I am going to hate saying goodbye.

The Pacifist
It is with bittersweet emotion that I write this review. I have absolutely loved this series and have been eagerly awaiting this last book. But there you go. It is the last book. Once I obtained a copy of the book and couldn't open it to start for a few days. I couldn't wait to read it, but at the same time did not want it to end. All of the characters are great in their own way, although I did like some more than others. Magni was one of my favorites and I'm happy to say he has a role in this book too. For this particular book, I wasn't sure how I would like it since the male character is a Motlander instead of being a macho Man of the North. His strength does not come in the form of muscles and funny enough that makes him so much stronger in other ways. I really thought this book was going to be my least favorite, but it definitely is not. It closes out the series on a high note, that is for sure. I am still sad to say goodbye to this series, but can't wait to see what Elin Peer comes up for us next!

Completed the series in 11 days

I downloaded the free sample of the first b ook three times before I actually read it. I regret that it took me so long to read this series.

The characters were three dimensional and kept my intrest all the way through the series. I liked that the author did not try to take me through the actual years represented in the stories. The fact that she did the base line of characters then the students and wrote a great aging story for each character.

The females were strong and allowed to show their softer side without becoming mush. The males were mens men. Their strength was not only in their physical strength but also in their hearts and how they loved.

This is the second sereis of Ms. Peer that I have read and will keep reading.

Have you been following the series? If so, this is the perfect opportunity to pick up the second half of the "Men of the North" series. These books continued to take me through a journey of unparalleled proportions; taking me away to what could be and making me think about what I personally believed in. The characters will touch your heart and pull you in while the storyline will make you feel like a participant rather than a quiet observer. Since Elin has always asked for no spoilers in her reviews, I will say this: these books took me on a journey that will forever be held dear within my memory and I have personally recommended them to many.

She’s done it again.

Fantastic series! I listened to the audible narrations for the first five books and read the final five in the box set. I’m about to go read Forbidden Letters next. I loved this series right away. I couldn’t wait to hear/read more, no matter how much I read. I’d still love to read more about Freya and the other children when they’re older. I’d also love to read more about the colony of French people they discovered outside the Motherlands. Compelling characters and exciting storylines. Can’t recommend enough. I’m so sad it’s over!

I waited too rate these books until I read the whole series. 😁

Every time I went to rate the books, another would pop up on my kindle and it sucked me in! Very well thought about plot with lots of hypertension, dyspnea over the romance and sexy parts, with depth and meaning for individuals in the books, and groups of difference. Parts made me laugh one time I cried, the rest was intense . Thank you for the breath of fresh air this series books 1 to 10, has given this tired overworked nurse in the middle of no man's land! Keep up the great work!💕✌👍

I absolutely adore this series of books! It is full of snark, misconception, multi-viewpoints and a completely new way of seeing the world you're living in. It does have a lot of swear words, so if that and sexual scenes are not your thing, you should still read this series! It is totally with the time to read it!
I love the entire series!

Wonderful books

The last five books of this series, dealing with the next generation from the first five books. Have tournaments disappeared? Will there be a man on the Council in the Motherland?? Will there be a woman on the police force in the Northlands??

I enjoyed the books immensely. Could you wrote more? Please?

Men with Beards. ..

This is a fantastic series. The differences between men and women are what also make us complete. These books explore the difference and the balance of the human race.

Incredibly raunchy but also intriguing. Not going to lie I'm ashamed to admit I listened to the entire series... I don't recommend these mindless raunchy books but secretly I enjoyed them...

Series gets better

I enjoyed this compilation of books 6-10. I would give most of the books more than a 4 but some dragged a little.
