After falling in love with Rise of the Defender, Christopher De Lohr, which is the very first book that I have read from Kathryn Le Veques. This is the book that had me buying each book that Kathryn writes, she brings to life the medieval era, the knights, the ladies, the intrigue and the pageantry. To have read as a stand alone and now that she has this as a collection, there are no words to describe how they will pull you in... fall in love with the de Lohr men, strong, honorable, and their love for close friends and their families. The de Lohr ladies, that are strong, loving and adventuress. That will do anything to keep their family together, to help in any way that sometimes are before their time but in these books you will go for a ride through time that once over will have you wondering...how you haven't read Kathryn Le Veques before.
In this collection, You have the beginning of a family of knights that are true to their honor, their beliefs and their love. Christopher, and David brothers each carving a life in "Rise of the Defender" and "Steelheart". Then you have the son's of David and Daniel, in "Shadow Moon" and "Silversword"
Each book can be read alone but as in this collection, you will have 4 great knights, their Ladies and the struggles that they will go through to prove that love and honor can be won...
And once finished...you will want more, more and more.

Great stories!
I love anything written by this author. This book is no exception. Her stories are so detailed and the characters so full and rich. Each of the stories in this book being the reader closer to the historical happenings of the the time (of course, the fictionalized ones) while the story is delivered in a modernized dialogue. Having already gone completely through the de Wolfe series I am on the prowl for others by this author and happily have a couple more books at ready to read.

Second time around and still amazing.
Love the romance, passion and adventure in the generations of DeWolfe. Amongst threat of battle, love conquers all. These books are such that reading them over and over would never become boring. The characters of strong handsome and chivalrous knights along with strong and feisty women make for page turning interest.

Good and fun to read.
I wish it were proofread, often the sentences made little sense until I reread it. Letters were left off the ends of words and others were misspelled. Aside from that the book was a fun read and the history was well researshed.

All books were great reading, I only wish that Silver Sword had been longer. Totally worth reading and wanting more.
