My mother in law purchased this from my Amazon wishlist for Christmas 2018. She had given me Ali’s first book for my birthday in 2017. Like her first book it is packed with awesome easy lessons. Before getting Ali’s books I never would have thought I could ever draw flowers. Her teaching style is so clear and easy to follow. I hope there are many more books from her in the future.

Some pages had clearer instructions than others, and my drawings reflect that; the ones I like best had the clearest instructions (to me). Each section begins with random life advice that doesn’t make sense for this book. An empty page for practice is included at the end of each section. There are a few pages on digitizing your work, which is a standout addition. It’s among the better drawing instruction books I’ve tried, but it has room for improvement.

This book is gorgeous & has given me a clearer understanding of drawing flowers. I went through 4 years of fine arts in college and could not grasp drawing flowers at all. This book breaks it down in a way that is easy to understand. I also love the digitize section and how to work in words or other shapes as framing. Best book I've read this year and I'm so pleased to add it to my collection.

Simple line art style with clear instructions and much much better than the last art book I read which was copy me verbatim style. This encourages looking at flowers from different viewpoints and in groups and while this author doesn’t get into shading that is not the focus of the book either.
