God wants to perform wonders and great exploits through a holy, set apart people. The question is have you given your life completely to the Lord and His purposes? This level of commitment and consecration comes only by having a prophetic vision of the returning Jesus.
As God’s people give themselves completely to Him and His Kingdom purpose, they will become catalysts for bringing the awakening and reformation that has been prophesied.
Author, prophet, and church planter, Jeremiah Johnson, is this message is a prophetic vision of the why behind what we're called to do. More than simply focusing on Christian behaviors and actions, when a believer has set Jesus before their eyes and lives as a bride eagerly awaiting the returning bridegroom, everything changes!
In The Power of Consecration, Jeremiah helps you to...
Sit at the "Table of Encounter" with the Lord.Discover how consecration is the result of your revelation of Jesus.Enter into a "new kind of fasting."Discern the 5 warning signs of the end-time "harlot bride."Resist the traps of legalism and religion.Could it be that the Holy Spirit is daring those who are hungry to come seek Him in a new way? For if we are willing to pay the price and consecrate ourselves fully to Him, He will manifest His kingdom fully in the earth.
This book is so needed in this current day and age when so much of the Church looks so much like the world.
There are very hard hitting truths in this book for everyone. We have no higher calling than to be consecrated for Jesus. God is raising up people to confront this very issue as well.
Jeremiah Johnson writes from a very humble position and you can tell that from the very opening of the book. In the process lays out truth based on the word of God. Laying upon layer upon layer. He lays out what true repentance looks like at that we have a huge part to play, in fact a responsibility. That Jesus requires not only the bad, the sin but even the good things in our lives from us. We must realize we are spiritually bankrupt without Jesus.
It is time for those who consider themselves to be Christians to be the Bride of Christ. To set themselves apart for Jesus without reservation. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. No matter what station you may consider yourself, no matter what level of maturity you think of yourself. Even if you have been a Senior Pastor for many years. This is a book for the entire body.
Clearly, Johnson has a deep love for the lord and for a holy church. Loved much about the book. Some aspects I enjoyed: his emphasis on fasting and the return of the lord. As well as a call back to holiness and integrity, to an American church that chases after the gifts and the power. However, he over-emphasises consecration. As JI Packer says, this kind of holiness teaching, promises too much (greater deliverance from sin than scripture teaches, or the apostles attained) and also too little (in light of missing the riches we have in Christ now). I don't find his call for a prophetic generation to rise that will call out sin reflects NT teaching. Surely the role of the prophetic in the New Testament is primarily for upbuilding. The job of elders and apostles are to bring correction to churches, not saints who carry prophetic gifts. All in all, a mixed bag.
This book is a powerful reminder of who we are as the Bride of Christ and how we must live. Jeremiah’s words brought conviction and renewed faith and hope to my heart to be ready and be trusting completely in the Lord. This is a must read for the body of Christ today!
Very humbling message direly needed by the church today. It is the route we must take as believers who desire to be at the Marriage supper. It is truthful, relevant, and non-negotiable. What the Bride of Christ clearly needs.
Words that expose much heresy today and give hope to all who "look for His coming." Jeremiah nails the need fot those hungering and thirsting after God.
It’s rare I find a book where I agree with everything in it. What a powerful reminder to live for the Lord in holiness in all that we do. This book should hopefully open your eyes and bring some conviction. I know it did for me. Consecrate yourselves oh Bride, and be set apart, for He is coming!
A book full of inspiration and deep insight into one of the greatest missing pieces of modern Christiandom. Highly recommended for those with a strong calling towards intercession. Editing notwithstanding, a good read for those with a solid foundation of Faith and an ability to holistically approach deep Biblical concepts.
