Cherishing His Fake Fiancée

Fake It Until You Make It.....I Guess It's Easier Said than Done.

Gayle Nash was my one-way ticket to a career.

I can't believe I had never thought of it sooner.

With him by my side, I'd have all the advantages to help me succeed as a sports journalist.

And maybe some people won't like that I slept my way to the top.

But let's get one thing straight here: I only slept with the major league baseball player after he gave me the ring.

Was it amazing? Yes.

Did I wish it meant something more than it did? Also yes.

Because while this engagement of ours might be fake, my feeling for him weren't.

But how was I supposed to tell him as much when there was another girl in the picture?

And that girl wasn't me.

So, what am I supposed to do when I want to transform a fake engagement into a real one?

And would Gayle ever see me as more than the girl next door?

* No cliff-hanger, No cheating and Guaranteed HEA (Happily ever after). This is a stand-Alone in the Cherishing His Love Series**

Gayle Nash is a professional baseball player who has been friends with Lily since they were young. He is close to her family, especially her grandma, who recently passed away. Gayle comes roaring back into town in his sleek BMW, causing Lily's heart to beat just a little bit faster. She has always had feelings for him, but he certainly can't have feelings for her, can he? He's a baseball star and she's just a Plain Jane. Gayle has feelings for her, as well, but does she see anything more in him than just a friend? They have such a good time together and it's a natural friendship. There is nothing uncomfortable when they're together, in fact, there are constant flirtations and innuendo. Gayle doesn't want to lose their special friendship so he doesn't kiss her, even when they are holding one another. Lily does have a favor to ask of him and it has to do with her career. She has hopes of being a sports journalist and needs Gayle's influence to help her with a job. She knows so much about baseball, since Gayle has filled her in with information and has piqued her interest as long as they've been friends. She has an idea that if they were engaged, it should open many doors for her. An engagement has been something in the back of their minds for a long time so it doesn't take long before the fake becomes real. This is such a sweet and loving story that I smiled all the way through, knowing that they would have their HEA. Wonderfully written!

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Gayle and Lily. Gayle and Lily were neighbors since Lily went to live with her grandmother when her parents died when she was seven. Gayle lived in his family's home during the season, he was a professional baseball player. When Gayle and Lily were together, they were playful and teasing each other, like best friends. Lily's grandmother had died the year before and she needed to find work to keep the house. Lily had taken journalism in college and thought she needed an edge to find work, so she asked Gayle to pretend to be her fiance in order to make it seem like she had an inside track to him and the team. It worked and Lily was hired by a baseball magazine. Gayle had real feelings for Lily and wanted to really marry her, but he didn't know if she really wanted to be with him, or if it was only for her career. Lily loved Gayle, but thought he was a playboy who would never be interested in her for real. I liked this book, I liked Gayle and thought he really loved Lily. I think he always knew they belonged together and would do anything for her. Lily thought he thought of her as a sister or buddy and didn't really love her. Another good one.

This was a fun story that I really enjoyed.

Gayle Nash is a popular and well-known MLB “bad boy” who has always been attracted to his neighbor, Lily. However, he never did anything about his feelings. Although Lily is realistic and honest with herself, and she knows that her strong attraction to Gayle will never become anything more, she thinks up a plan where she will pretend to be Gayle’s fake fiancée to get a leg-up in a possibly new career as a sports journalist. Gayle agrees to her crazy plan, perfectly willing to be given the chance at getting closer with her. However, things just seem to go wrong and they slip further apart than before. Will they walk away from what they could finally have together? Or will something else happen to give them the courage to say how they really feel?

The characters are well-portrayed so that they are likable and believable. The story line is good, even though these plans never seem to run smoothly and the reader knows there will be lots of bumps along the way! This was an easy read and a feel-good story than was handled very well. Grab a copy and let it pull you in!

Oh, Alexandria McLean has just produced gold with the creation of Cherishing His Fake Fiancee. So many misunderstandings & misconceptions. Not to worry though because there IS a much deserved happily ever after for these two. I do try very hard never to give away any part of the plot, so that I do not ruin it for reader's. That being said, here it goes..

Ms. McLean's newest romance, centers around a couple, that were friends first although they both have secreted feelings for each other. Gayle, an impressive Athlete (baseball), and Lily (neighbor), have perfected their friendship, but when Lily gets an idea in her head, he'd do anything to help her. Fake Fiancee? No problem... anything for her, HOWEVER, both of these two wish it was for real. After losing her Grandmother, Lily needs a job fast and has come up the perfect plan... all she needs is Gayle. Can/will he help her? Can they keep their feelings hidden? Or will they lose everything, before it can begin, due to a huge lack in communication?

I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of Cherishing His Fake Fiancee in exchange for my honest opinion and I couldn't recommend it more. Another Impressive Release From Ms. McLean.

Congratulations.

Lily just inherited her grandmother’s home but didn’t have much money or a job. What she had was a journalist degree. Her neighbour and best friend Gayle is a professional baseball player and happens to love Lily. So when she comes up with the scheme to pretend they are engaged, he jumps at the chance. What happens next, well you have to read it yourself.

This is a wonderfully written contemporary romance about two people who were trying to suppress their feelings in order to keep their long time friendship intact. It is tender, romantic, hot and steamy, and filled with love. I loved how the author developed the amazing characters and wove their story in amongst the internal barriers and external obstacles they were faced with. I loved this book, it touched me emotionally and made me uplifted. If you enjoy this genre, I can highly recommend this book.

ONE STUPENDOUS TREAT!!!
Man! Talk about combustible! Someone call the Fire Department. A multitude of unexpected events and surprising mishaps launch all of your swirling emotions to life spectacularly. The tension is spiralling, the chemistry is hot and the suspense is skyrocketing. This is one skillfully laid storyline with an thrilling plot that rocks this read from the git-go. Twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few bumps and bruises bring this baby together flawlessly. The characters are authentic, relatable and so realistic with depth and qualities that blend and flow smoothly. The scenes are so graphically detailed and descriptive it paints a wonderful backdrop that gives the illusion your right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Fantastic job Alexa, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.

Lily was Gayle's best friend and his mother and her grandmother always wanted them to be together. When Lily needed a push in her career as a journalist Gayle agreed to pretend to be her fiancé. Gayle has had feeling for Lily bit never acted on them because of their friendship. Sparks fly between them and its not long before they give into temptation. Just as it seems things are going well between them a misunderstanding causing more distance between them. However when someone causes some trouble for Gayle its not long before Lily come back to him. Will they be able to see that they belong together?

This is an amazing story that will draw you in from the first page. The chemistry is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I want to be cherished like this! The story started out with a little background and went straight to action. As the story progressed more details were filled in, such as when famous baseballer, Gayle Nash, first met Lily Cannon (hint: as kids when she went to live with her Grandma). She is his next-door neighbor but is temporarily out of a job. She gets the bright idea to become his fiancée, which he goes along with, and things really begin to happen as they try to figure out how this will work. This story has drama, humor, a few tears and ...an ending that you need to read to find out! This is a winsome read. Loved it!

This is a wonderful friends to lovers/ fake fiance sports romance, Gayle and Lily have been best friends since they were young neighbors, now all grown up and being a professional baseball player Gayle has all he wants but the woman he loves until she comes up with the idea for the fake engagement so she might get a job. Gayle decides to work that to his advantage, but there is major complications on their way to a HEA.

This book is well-written and pulled me in from the beginning, I read it in one sitting. I really liked the characters, both Gayle and Lily are down to earth and incredibly likable even though Gayle has his sportsman ego. Highly entertaining.

Lily is all alone in the world, her parents died when she was a little girl and her grandmother mor recently!

Gayle Nash is a top baseball player and has been Lily’s neighbour since they were children.

They have an amazing friendship, but both have secret feelings for each other, but are too scared to share their thoughts for fear of losing that special friendship.

One night over dinner, Lily asks Gayle a very important question, and explains the reason behind it, of course he loves the idea, as it will bring the, closer, but is she doing it for selfish reasons!

When a devastating accident occurs, those feelings have to spoken about! Is this what they both want, or is it all just make believe!

Cherishing his Fake Fiancée. I thought this book was a great read! Putting two friends together as a fake couple to achieve a goal, not knowing there might be more to the relationship. Lily needed a job and she used her best friend Gayle the baseball star to get it. Neither one of them knew the other really had feelings for each other until jealousy and a tragic accident brings them face to face with their emotional feelings. This book was well written and easy to read and fall in love with the characters. Lily and Gayle has been fiends since childhood.Lily went to school to become a journalist and has not gotten a job yet. Galye was a major league basball player. She comes up with a plan to use their frindship to help her get a job writing about baseball. This plan was to pretend to be his fake fiancee. She did not think he would go for this because she did not think she was good enough for him. Gayle was thinking she was just using him, neither knew the others feelings. Will they have their HEA? To get the answer you will need to read the book to find out all the details.

Lily and Gayle grew up together and their families always assumed that they would end up together. Lily considered Gayle a friend and kept the feelings that she had for him secret, little did she know that he felt the same. When Lily presents Gayle with an offer that she thinks is one sided he agrees and the two enter into a fake engagement. But what Lily doesn't realize is that while she is under the impression that the engagement is fake Gayle is thinking of ways to convince her that the were meant to be together. This book was good. The story line was different and I found it a pleasure to read.

What would you do instead of telling them that you loved them
Embark on a mad capped caper that allows you to pretend that you're in love?
That's just what Gayle and Lily has done.
Now can they make pretend a reality? And what about the twists in this book? I didn't see that coming!
I really enjoyed this book - it's not just another fake fiance book - it had something more, something extra that dragged me in and sat my backside down on the sofa and refused to let me go until I finished this book and made me write this review.
Yes I really enjoyed it and I want to share this book with you.

Gayle and Lily are best friends and next door neighbors. They both love each other but are afraid to lose what they have to pursue more than just friendship. Lily comes up with a scheme to have Gayle post as her fake fiance to help her further her career and Gayle jumps at the chance hoping that he can make it more than just fake. The book was well written and the author really built up the characters and their relationship well. There's a bit of a mystery in the story and a HEA. I wish there was one more epilogue chapter to really pull everything together.

I received an ARC of this book and am leaving an honest, voluntary review.

A bad boy baseball star, a sports journalist, and fake engagement; what could possibly happen. They knew each other when they were younger. They are still in love with each other but don't know how to tell the other one. The characters are relatable and have amazing chemistry. The plot is good. The story flows smoothly. This is a great friends to lovers story. Plus there is a HEA with some complications thrown into the mix as well.

One day he comes back to town and they both realize that they have feelings for each other but are unwilling to act on it because it might break their special bond. Lily wants a job as a journalist and she comes up with the idea that she becomes Gayle`s fake fiancé. No spoilers, Can these two get their acts together and admit whats is obviously real?

This is the next book in this series however the books are stand alone so it doesn’t feel like walking into a series.

I found the characters to be very compelling and I was fully immersed in their story. I read the entire thing in one sitting, you don’t even notice time pass. There’s quite a few ups and downs along the way but rest assured a HEA is on the way.

It is a fast pace, page-turner; the writing is fluid and the story flows smoothly. The storyline is well-developed, consistent, and emotionally deep; it will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you are hankering for a sweet friends to lovers story, Cherishing His Fake Fiancée by Alexa McLean is a good one to read. I found Gayle and Lily’s friendship endearing, a bit funny, and yes, frustrating at first, with both of them not wanting to delve into their feelings. But when they finally admitted their love for each other, it was a sweet ride. Looking forward to other books by Alexa McLean!

I really enjoyed this story of Lily and Gayle. I liked that they were life long friends who has feelings for each other but neither dared to admitt it in fear of loosing their friendship! I do think it took a little too long before they caught up to each others feelings, but with the friendship, mystery, intrigue and love all in all it combined to be a good story!

Great story including a homerun….really. The characters are great. I liked them from the start I couldn’t wait to see how the author would lead us through their lives.
While it may be a friends to lovers story it is very well written and held my interest up to the very end. And I’ll be honest, I was sorry when I got to the end of the story. I wanted more! Always the sign of a great book!
