This book makes numerous fair points. Human flesh is chemically identical with animal flesh. Improvements never come in the mass - but always by installment. Take practical and consistent steps to align with your principles for rational progress. A vegetarian condemns flesh eating to get rid of the worst evils first. Even if they are called inconsistent for infringing the code they live by, they are another step closer to having a diet that refrains from butchery and slaughterhouses.
