First Chronicles is a difficult book. Like Numbers, it has a large amount of census material and lists of names. This commentary did a good job of explaining what people were being talked about and their significance
This book also runs parallel to the book of Samuel, but is extremely abridged. This commentary pointed out a lot of these differences with explanations of why certain things were included and why some things were omitted.
