This is the first published guide to the Deseret Alphabet, an alternate alphabet designed in the nineteenth century for English by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I read all 86 pages straight through, did the exercises, and then carried this book around in my backpack for a few months as a reference guide.
And the result? I can actually read and write Deseret Alphabet! I'm not particularly fast, but I can do it! YAY!
So I'm not sure what this does for me in the long run (fame? fortune? probably not), but it is very cool to be one of the 10 (100?) people in the world who are Deseret Alphabet savvy.
