Tom and Kelly were settling into a peaceful new house in the country, escaping the suburban void. An older house that was set on the edge of a quiet lake seemed like the perfect place to start anew. Looking forward to the peace that the solitude could bring them, they had no idea how much a dinner party turned spirit board session could change everything. After Kelly finds the diary of the original family’s daughter, there are more questions than answers about who – or what – is still lingering. The past will never sink away…
It's always different in movies when you watch a horror story. You can always hide behind something and finish it in a horrific breeze. But with books, you can't. Into the Lake gave me chills and walked me through all the gasping moments in full. The intrigue and suspense were intertwined harmoniously (so creepily actually, I feel like drowning)! A new house near a lake and a spirit board completes the terror trinity. The ending is really something. Into the Lake is an intelligent horror story. Kudos to the author, Katherine Dempster.
