The process of obtaining a registered trademark can be confusing and complex. With the increased use of the Internet, especially social media, registered trademarks are more important than ever. The increased business opportunity that comes with the social media age comes with increased threat of intellectual property infringement Cheryl Hodgson’s Book provides any business owner with helpful and necessary information to make sure the names of their products and services are protected .

I didn’t realize how important as well as difficult it is to register your trademarks until reading this book. Registering is like playing both offense and defense. If you don’t do it, you may as well handover your intellectual property to competitors!

Having study law in business school I have to say I wish more riders were like this one. Just over 100 pages in formatted for all to easily understand, I strongly recommend for entrepreneurs and business people to pick up this title. With 87% of all trademark applications in the US being rejected initially this book is the first line of defense giving you a simple step-by-step look at how to register, common pitfalls and perhaps equally as important: WHEN TO ASK FOR HELP!

You would think that more companies would naturally register their trademark for their company names, but you would be surprised. I, myself, didn't know how important it was until I read this book which explains why you should and the possible risks in not doing so. I liked that this book was easy to ready, and it explains mostly everything, as well as presented examples. It's not easy to come up with an original name brand or slogan, but it's not hard to trademark it once you figure it out. Don't let all of your hard work go to waste, and remember to legally protect yourself and your business.

I enjoyed this book very much. Wow, I don't need an expensive lawyer to trademark my ideas. This is a simple to read book that I will use to help patent my products that I will import from China to USA. Now I know the proper forms and step by step procedures to make it happy. Ironically, it was written by a lawyer, so I am confident I can trust her.

read this book because my mom isn’t big on reading but is building a small business. So glad I did because I was able to translate a lot of vital information about trademarks. It is beyond important to take the time to learn how to protect your brand. There’s a ton of good info in this read but it’s written in a way that is easy to follow.

This book is most certainly an essential guide for anyone who has or is thinking about starting a business and is wondering about brand protection. The book is really easy to follow, and Cheryl Hodgson does a great job demystifying the subject of trademarks. I can easily recommend this to any aspiring businesswoman or businessman.

This book is very helpful and it was just what I needed to know to get my brand launched off correctly. It definitely full filled a much needed gap I was missing to expand.
